Lurpe's Build Thread

Hello

After looking on this forum, I decided to build a MRC.
Ok, first of all. I'm 16 years old from Belgium. So sorry if my English isn't that good at some moments.

Second, I realy don't want to read comments like; you're stupid, you had to buy the Pro version, etc...
I know with the recent price drop. But I've ordened my MRC 1week!! before the price drop... The customs in Belgium held it for like 4weeks.

* Parts list:
-Losi MRC rtr
-Reedy Stump Puller
-Axial white 1.9 beadlocks
-TCS mini edge chassis
-Losi allu shocks
-Losi knuckles
-Losi front carriers
-Losi Rear straight axles and lockouts
-Losi F/C/R metal lockers
-Losi 30° lower links
-Losi allu hexes
-Integy driveshaft (is broken already)
-Blue Bird BMS 1715 servo
-HB rovers (red dot)
-Full size servo mount

I don't go work so I don't earn money. I have to ask my parents for money and after this list above, I have to wait a couple of months :(

* Future upgrades (next 2 months)
-BWD mini wedge pro
-BWD Topper for the mini wedge
-BWD 1.9 mini vertex beadlock wheels
-BWD motor plate
-BWD ota steering
-tekin B1R or FXR
-(Team brood anarchy motor)

But here it goes:

Then I removed the shocks,Battery plate and upper links

http://i915.photobucket.com/albums/a.../Rcauto010.jpg

When I reached to this stage, my mother was like, omg will you be able to put it back togheter? And I like; I hope so ;p

http://i915.photobucket.com/albums/a.../Rcauto007.jpg

When I opened the axle housing it was very greased, I've cleaned it out to replace the lockers and then filled it again with grease

Rear axle completed

http://i915.photobucket.com/albums/a.../Rcauto012.jpg

Front axle completed

Tranny done and motor installed

http://i915.photobucket.com/albums/a.../Rcauto015.jpg

I know crappy cable management but Ok for now

* 'Free' upgrades to do
-Outboard the shocks
-Tighten down my shocks

LurpeBE 07-09-2011 12:42 PM

I can't make running pictures/movies because it doesn't work
We think it's the ESC. (maybe I make a movie aboat it)

I don't realy like the TCS mini edge. Came with no instructions, shocks didn't mount just up. So I'll just buy a BWD mini edge, then I have 4link too.

In terms of lookings I realy like it, I think it looks beast.
But I don't know how it performs

I will keep you guys up to date and when I get my new chassis,wheels,etc... I will post it here

Please feel free to comment or what you think I can do better with this setup

Great build, enjoy they MRC, they are super little crawlers.

I often go back to my 1.9 mini juice after running my xr10, it suprises me how much more control and attention you need with the mini crawlers.

I can recommend the Y town crawler's "Mini Juice" chassis, its superb. you will need to make your own links (use 6mm delrin rod - can be cut and drilled/tapped easily, and bent with a lighter to soften)

all the best . . G

Thank you, I've looked back to the mini wedge and the minijuice and I Will buy the minijuice. The wedge is really ugly.
Will those lower links from crawler innovations work?

I've just bought a new ESC (LRP http://www.lrp.cc/en/products/electr...verse/details/ ) I wired it up and... It still doesn't work. Me and my Dad are really confused. It's not the ESC, Radio and not the motor (we tested with the stock motor and the stump puller)........ kinda sucks

but we continue our search, because I need it saturday when we go on holiday for 2weeks

Slaughter 07-11-2011 11:12 AM

What's the issue with the ESC? Try disconnecting the servo from the receiver and see if anything happens.

LurpeBE 07-11-2011 12:03 PM

I think we found the issue,... the battery was broken.
Now I can use my servo properly but when I plug the motor in it starts spinning and I can't stop it with my transmitter.
Problems keep comming.

It is either the ESC needs to be calibrated to the RX, or you need to reset your trim on the TX.
When you calibrate the ESC, make sure the TX trim (for throttle) is at "0"."thumbsup"

LurpeBE 07-13-2011 02:50 PM

ok, now it's working 80% when I go backwards I have to wait 2sec to go forwards... but Ok to take it on holiday.
I've looked for Vanquish products LH procomp but they're to expensive

Hey, I can't calibrate the LRP esc it's some kind of 'smart' device. It automaticly knows you're TX trims, etc but that problem is fixed too.
But thank you anyway
