Default A quick question for you, D-lux:

Are you using a MRC CVD shaft with a LCC CVD stub?
I thought the weak spot with the MRC CVD's was the shaft at the "neck" where it thins down. Did I miss something?

Yeah, MRC inner shaft with LCC stub.

I am not sure what youre getting at? The purpose of this mod is to give you a stronger stub, knuckle, C, no flex in the axle housing and the opportunity to run knuckle weights. If youre having issues with breaking your inner shaft then that is totally something separate.

JeremyH just pointed out that you can buy this kit for $39.95

http://www.losipartshouse.com/servle...it-cln-/Detail

It looks like it will only be a couple bucks more expensive than buying individually and you get a whole lot more.

That is actually courtesy of Mike (onespeeder). It has all of the parts you need to upgrade to the LCC knuckles and take full advantage of the Dlux parts listed in this thread. You will just have to do a bit of work the inner shafts to be able to use them on an MRC.

So you basically just shorten and grind the inner CVD shafts to make them fit in the MRC, or is there more to it than that?

You can use a stock MRC inner shaft with zero mods.

If you want a LCC inner shaft you will have to shorten and grind.

Edit: Sorry, not a stock dog bone MRC shaft but a CVD MRC shaft

The diameter of the shaft needs to be reduced if you plan on using the existing bearings. If not, then shortening and flat spotting the inner should be all you need to do...

Thanks Jeremy, have a part number for the replacement bearings? If I'm upgrading to get more beef, I don't want to reduce it back down to stock diameter, kinda defeats the purpose.

Nope, sorry. I had my inner shaft turned down to use the stock bearings. I think if you left the OD the same, then the difference between the OD and ID of the bearings would be too small and they'd easily fail. You can try using no bearings in them and simply let the shaft sit in the locker on one end, and let the knuckle hold it in place on the other. I believe this is what Erik does.
