FYI...for those of you who are thinking about getting the Exceed RC outrunner that I am using, it appears as though HobbyPartz has them back in stock. And I STILL haven't gotten a video. Might see if I can get my 8-year-old daughter to man the camera for a bit so I can get something posted.

I have the EZRUN 25A ESC and the Outrunner Bugman is using on his MRC on my desk.. I have a Tacon 3400kv Inrunner on it's way so that I can run and tune my crawler while I deal with the motor plate issue.

Also, where I crawl there's a lot of belly dragging and my buddy's MRC Pro takes some hits to the motor, so I'd like to have some sort of skid under my outrunner, I think hitting it could cause some issues..

Bugman, I'll PM you, but what size bullet plugs do you use to replace the tiny ones on the outrunner?

To be quite honest, I don't know. After the motor came in, I stopped by my LHS to get the bullets. One of the guys took the truck and came back with new bullets soldered. I THINK they are 3mm.

Why do people have to trim their finned Tacon 2040s? I literally just mounted mine with no issues. (In the old one, the pro is 100% for sure coming tomorrow, stupid Fedex)

I can take a picture if I need to, but the fins don't even touch the tranny and my gear mesh is fine.

I just used the two mounting holes on motor that are the closest together, mounted on the stock plate.

bumping this post for the videos and some follow-up. I'm mostly building mine as a hybrid scaler to pull a trailer for my 1/10 drift car. I've got a creek bed near by for fun.

There's a 4 pole brushless motor combo for $35. More poles = more torque?

I'm assuming you mean the Toros? (these Toro Micro ESC/Motor Combo)

I don't know about poles, but in my opinion, those won't work very well because of the KV..

And, a few posts up, I take that back, because it's the chassis that has to be ground away to fit the motor... And some motor had to be ground...

I think you mean you have the finned 2030? I bought a tacon 2040, but the bearing sticks out and doesn't fit the motor mount plate. You might be able to round out the hole, but seems like there won't be much material left for motor screws.

I'm gonna try one of the 2030s... can you share your pics?

It's the finned TACON 2040 3400kv, it would have been a lot easier to fit a 2030..

It's really big in the Pro Roller.. I'm going to try to mount up the outrunner soon..

Good luck! PM me if you need any more details.
