Default What Is This Noise???

When I get in a bind it clicks..it sounds like a plastic gear stripping but all my gears are fine..it happens when the front tires get in a bind..they lock up and it makes that noise..another time it makes it is wen i go full throttle then stop it clicks a few times. The front diff looked fine to me so any input would be GREAT!!!

Make sure your pinion and spur are not set too tight.

If you have plastic lockers, be sure to check those.

I think your stripping the ring gear and pinion, reshim front diff and see if that takes it away. then get longer bolts so they go thru the housing so you can put nuts on the back side so housing doesn't deflect and strip again.

A shim or two behind the pinion will push it closer to the other gear. Or you could get the mini Revo pinion and kill two birds. And as Thomass14 suggested, longer bolts and use nuts to keep the housing together,

I just lost two teeth on the idler gear in the tranny, makes a nice clicking noise and when the main gear rests in the gap it just sits there with the motor spinning.

At least the gear set is cheap at $6.
