So i stripped my stock tranny gears.. they are the plastic ones..

I got the Hot Racing hard ano. gears. I installed them, and they sound bulletproof.

In addition, i did the Overdrive mod, with the traxxas mini revo ring/pinion gears and then added a 370 size heatsink, to help the motor cool down better.

Quick poser shot:

Went crawling today, in my backyard course to test out new shock settings and oils. set up works like a charm. feels alot more planted than previous setup.

yea i found that out the hard way today haha.

i like how you have a lower stance on your buggie aswell. makes the whole truck look better

haha, that is one of the best stock mods to do actually. Helps ALOT.

what you do is get nitro fuel tubing, cut about 1/4" and then open up your shock, then place the tubing over the piston, so its inbetween the shock body and the round thing that has the hole in it to allow shock oil go through it. (i forgot what this is called)..

This will both help limit articulation, and lower your ride

Coupla fyi's.

1. The BWD topper will fit the GC-3 so I hear.

2. The HR gears are not as bulletproof as you might hope. Keep an eye on that locker. I did the same thing you did on the stock gears and found the smaller gear to be the bad one. The hr larger gears with the locker went in and it wound up stripping at the locker on me. I was bumbed. Anyway I went back to the stock one with the steel locker with the hr smaller gear and it worked out fantastic.

Just saw this thread... right on man, hope those gears work out. I can't see how they'd fail unless the tranny flexed and caused the mesh to mess up.

is there anyway to drill and bolt the tranny in other spots to keep it together?

If you can find a spot or two, or figure out where/how it flexed you might be able to save the cash. Just a thought.

Edit: if you want those photos post processed and or larger I can do that for ya in about 5 min. wouldn't be a problem, lemme know.

That thing was wicked capable on the rocks man, makes me want one for 89 bucks at RPP.

Hmm, time to tap to 3mm?

Do you think it would be possible to get all the pics of my rigs post processed? if its too much, i dont care. If you could, that would be great, just shoot me a PM with the pics.

Yea, i know! i was actually surprised my self, since all this time, ive been running my XR more than the mini, since i havent had the $$$ to fund it. but got it running, man, i actually had way more fun with the mini than my XR.
