I got in the D-lux shock/link mount today. Thanks Erik for the quick shipping. It took a little while to get in on, but once I did it worked great. I ended up opening the holes with a 3/32" drill. I also put a small notch on each side of the axle tube to accept the M3 screw. I found that it was putting it in a bind without the notch. I think the notch is better anyway, since it will help keep it from twisting. I still need a few parts to finish it off, like the king pins. The cut off wood screws will work for mock up though. I hope to get a chance to torture test the set up soon!

I finished version 2 of my chassis plate. The nose was a little low for my taste. I also raised the sides a bit to make sure I had the 1" cab height. Still have lots of tweaking, but it is getting close. Most of the panels are fit. the cross braces are temporary and will be replaced with blue ones later on.

Interesting design on the cab. I have always wondered about putting something much taller on the top. Roll overs are looking really good with this cab?

It's not that much taller than any other. The overall is 3.5" from skid to top. I just made the sides shorter than most. I got my motor in today so I hope to try it out soon. The LCC conversion worked out great. I will keep you posted on how it is working.

If the batteries show, she is ready for Sunday. I appreciate all the help with questions and parts from the vendors. From this point out it is just tweaks.

What servo mounts are people using for the front of these? The ones that come with it are too short for a full-size servo, right?

I took mine right off, but I think it will take the full size. The Pro comes with a long and short servo arm. There appears to be two slots on the plate. I made my mount from a sheet of 1/16" carbon fiber.

The actual little pieces that you screw the servo into are too short. Not the whole plate. What are people replacing those with?

Took the Smurf out for it's maiden voyage this weekend. The rig handles very well, when it wasn't glitching. I am about 99% sure the glitch is from the crappy, Patriot, servo. It has happened with a similar servo on my 2.2 comp rig. A 7955TG will be ordered soon. I would get a good line and it would take off in full throttle. Not exactly easy to drive when the rig has a mind of it's own. Hopefully someone snapped a few pics. I was too busy organizing everything to even think about it.

I am trying to get the panels finished. Need to find my art work. Just going with pasted on pics and paint for now. Might get inside skins later.

I got my panels finished. I just need to wait for them to dry and put them on. Hopefully my servo will come in before Friday.

Got some action shots today at Ringing Rock. Still need to get my shocks set up the way I want. Going to see how my temporary rear lower link holds up. Might end up with a Ti one.

I have decided to go brushless. At the last comp a few people were telling me to go with the Mongoose system from Novak. I was hoping to get some feedback on what size. My first thought was the 18.5, but the 10.5 has been tossed out as an option. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
