| Scrub radius?
Ok first off, I did search and cant find what I am looking for. I have a mrc with gmade wideners on it, can someone explain to me how a widener gives you a huge scrub radius, and why that is such a big deal, is the trade off for stability worth it? I know you all have opinions. Lets hear them. |

I ran my mini with wideners at the front only. This is the way i prefer the mini, stable front end, with narrow rear, makes for great turning cicle: if you do the following: Losi CVDs, Zero ackerman steering (redrilled knuckles), clock the front axle back about 20 degrees. Overdrive the front axle (traxxas +1 tooth pinion). The turning cicle on my mini was tiny (about 24inch compared with about 6foot plus on stock setup!) If I popped the throttle it would turn tighter. The wideners helped me lots, in that the extra width was stable and gave a great grab when attempting ledges (the wide stance "reaches" out and can hook a ledge, then haul the rig up with careful steering). I run a similar wide setup on the XR10. |
