Default Losi MRC Pro

New to Crawling
I found on e-Bay, Losi 1/18 Mini Rock Crawler Pro $64.95 A good deal. I like the idea of 1.9 comp crawler.
Are there many upgrades and is it the only platform of this size?
What's the difference from the Losi MRC rtr for $249.99. I understand rtr but without rtr components how different is it? Is the mrc pro a good platform to start?

Yes thats a great deal and in fact thats the going rate for them on ebay. You will need no upgrades because the Pro comes fully loaded with all the goodies. The RTR is just a cheap version for people who just wish to play around the yard and not looking to do competitions. The pro is the way to go regardless of what route you go imo. You just need basic electronics and your gtg.

I have a few of them I mainly bough the extra for parts. You will be happy with the truck only small downside is the CF chassis can crack at the bolt holes by the skid. The CF they use is pretty tough I had a tough time trying to break the chassis in half by hand but somehow it broke clean at this point. Dunno but enjoy your purchase.

Check out Rubbaneck's thread to see a few upgrades you might want to make and setup suggestions. Outboarding the shocks and limiting them is a must IMO. Much more stable. Oh, and you need to weight the wheels.
