| Problems when turning lef and right
Guys, is it normall, that when I turn right, my left front tire is blocked by servo (1:10 Futaba S9550) and when I turn left, I can't turn fully because linkage from servo to knuckles touches servo from down and left turn is smaller than right? Is there a cure for it? And how about servo mounts, they don't fit 1:10 servo, I could screw it only with down 2 screws, upper holes are hidden behind mounts on servo...

Yes the position of the servo will contact the left tire when making a right turn. You are correct, a standard 1/10 size servo can only use the bottom two screws. I rigged up a center servo mount and flipped the servo over so I could use the same linkage. I just bought another servo tray set, cut the lip off the rear one and used that for my upper link mounts. Then I placed a standard size servo plate that I had from my AX-10, drilled the holes and used longer screws to sandwich them all together. Now I have a centered 1/10 servo and stuck the battery pack on the front upper links (800mah 2S more than fast enough for crawling). |

Wow, such a mistake from losi. Your way is quite good, I will have to make new servo plate if there are not ready sollutions. Can you show me how did you plase you battery and how big is it?

The tires does rub the servo, but it shouldn't affect the turning...mine doesn't. The easiest way to way to fix your link issue is to make one with some all-thread and aluminum sleeve. The shape of the stock link is what causes it to hit the servo. Making a servo plate will be tough because of the way the links attach to it. The BWD servo plate is the only direct fit I know of and should work if you make some shorter upper links. |
