Default MRC Pro Mods

What mods/tweaks should be done to the MRC Pro right out of the box? From what I've seen, flipping the tranny is a must and perhaps flipping the shocks upside down. Anything else?

I wouldnt bother with flipping the shocks.

heres what ive done-

cheap/ free mods-
batery on front upper links
rx on rear upper links
weight tires/ wheels

bought mods-
MIP drive shafts (stock break easy)
bent lower links (rear)
aluminum C-hubs

doesnt need much to be a very capable rig.

Those were the same that I did except for the hubs.

I also made a centered servo mount using the existing upper link mounts to eliminate the wheel rubbing the servo. Lastly I have Rovers with I-nova foams.

Flip the trans? Wouldn't hurt much. Mine works nicely the way it is.

if your not comping just add weight to the tires and go play tell something breaks. I liked when i changed out the one hole valve for the three hole ones in the shocks leave driver rear with one hole though

If you are looking for some quick upgrades I would recommend to add weight to the front wheels and get some 1.9 Rovers, huge differance. Free upgrades are to outboard your upper links at the chassis to tighten everything up and outboard your shocks at the axle, put a spacer in where they used to go. Limit your shocks a little more for a bit less travel. They come with 5mm spacers inside them and you'll want to have around 10mm, take out the spacers on the shaft and add 10mm fuel tubbing. The rest you can get as needed. You dont need everything on the list to have a comp rig, you already got a good one as is.

It showed up today and I am very impressed. I immediately removed the stock driveshafts to put on the MIPs I already had purchased. One of the set screws stripped almost immediately even after heating with a soldering iron. I ended up having to drill it out which worked out well since I was tossing the stock ones anyway.

My only real complaint so far has been the screws. They are so tiny that I feel like I'm going to strip almost all of them. The largest ones I have seen are the ones holding on the servo.

Other than that, great little rig. I'm going to fashion a tray for the electronics and battery (still using stock MRC electronics).

Thanks for the suggestions, guys. I'll start doing those little mods as I feel the need for better performance.

Outboard the shocks at the axles. The stock setup is wayyyyy too flexy.

+1

Need to stiffen it up a bit and limit the travel. Too much articulation works against you.

He is WARCRC 2010-2011 1.9 series champion. Not national champ. I would start out with good electronics and servo first and definitly get the 1.9 rovers. Then add weight on the front. From there you can tweak it to your liking.

Is weight in the tire or on the rim a better choice?
Thanks

I thought I won the Worlds in 2009 and the Nationals 2010 back-to-back . I must have been dreaming...
