Default does it work ? Tekin FXR + 3S

Hey fellas,
I got the Tekin FXR and the HH MiniTorqueMaster 22T or 33T (donīt know how to figure out).
Can I drive this set with 3S?

Tekin says a 35T is needed for 3S but why?
What can happen?

I had the same set up for a while, I ran it with a 3S for quite a while just fine. I am not saying for sure that it was right, But it worked fine for me. Now I am running the FXR with a 17T contraband it that thing ROCKS!!. The FXR had been running a 3s just fine.

The 35T limit refers to a 540 size motor. The smaller can motors are safe to use on 3S at those winds you are talking about,

3s and 22t hhtmm will be VERY fast at the wheel! I ran the 22T on 2s and was more than impressed with wheel speed!.

Thats what I run and it is pretty darn quick so the learning curve was a tad higher. I used to run a 2s and it was plenty.....come to think of it why did I even go 3s in the first place. I think it is overkill but to each his own.

I would agree with Arecee regarding the size motor having an impact on what tekin says about a 35t. I had a 33t on an fxr running a 3s and it was more than fine. I had to really tweek the epa's to make sure I copuld control my rig. I had a dx3r and would use the epa's while driving to really slow things down and when I needed to wheel and get air or jump a gap or something I would goose it and roll the epa up to 140%. It was a great setup. I wish I had decased my fxr though to get it even smaller.

Iīm thinking about driving it with 3S to drive a smaller pinion and a bigger spur gear so that I can crawl a bit slower with higher rpmīs and when itīs needed thereīs enough push and speed to jump obstacles

How can I figure out which HH MTM I have?

Slightly off topic but what pinions fit the Holmes motors? I am running a Losi Slider motor right now but have a Holmes and want to put it in but need to fina a pinion. Also, what count tooth seems to be working?
