what weight oil are you using? I was accustomed to running 60+ in my mini wedge, with the lowpro, i ran it almost without any oil... was surprised at the handling characteristics with the quick recovery. won first time out untuned as well. this guy just flat out works !

I always start my builds with 30weight and go from there. I haven't reached the point on this build yet of playing with different weights, but so far I see no real reason to.

Nice build, which bolt fits the Axial rod ends, is it the tiny one for the lower links or the larger one for the chassis side of the Y link?

It is the larger M3 size. "thumbsup"

Re: Papabash's BWD 'Low-Pro' Wedge Build

Now that Christmas is over, I finally had some time to get back in the shop and get some more work done on this. Spent some time on my practice course, and I think I have it dialed in about as good as it's gonna get. I am really impressed with how well this thing handles; it will definitely be my primary comp rig. Anyway, I shortened some of the wiring, relocated some of the electronics, and cleaned everything up a bit. Also took out the BEC and ran the servo directly to the battery.

Got my aluminum servo arm installed, and made a new drag link. I didn't trust the plastic one to hold up to 403 oz of torque... 8)

Got some body panels made and painted. Nothing fancy yet, just some practice panels. I'll make nice ones when I have more time.

Crap!!!

When you are all finished up with this thing, strap a 5 pound weight on top so I have a fighting chance! Good looking rig by the way"thumbsup"

Thanks guys (and gal):mrgreen:, I appreciate the compliments!
Ummmm, sorry, but no-can-do on the 5lb weight, Tommy, I'm pretty sure it would put my rig over the legal height limit. :ror:

You'd be OK, I believe there is a "minimum" height, you can go waaaayyyyyy taller if need be!;-)

:lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao:

BTW, great looking rig. And I was thinking a 7955 would be overkill......

Thanks, and you're right, a 7955 IS overkill on these! I'm used to running 5645s, and they did fine. I just thought since I had this on the shelf... why not?!? So far I haven't had any problems getting it to go where I point it. :ror:

Got a little bling in the mail today... some VP Incision Servo Armor bling, that is. Was gonna make my own but decided there was no way I could make one this lightweight. It is truly a work of art! "thumbsup"

Dave,

Great job on the rig, it turned out really nice "thumbsup". I can't wait to see it at the upcoming comp.

Currently what is the front and rear width of the rig?
