Here's what I ended up with for my rear weight setup...

The weights turned out good Ryan. How much did you end up putting on each side?

With the 2 additional pieces added to each side I believe they were around 1.4oz each...I'll have to double check that.

hey hey, i just checked out the mini thread and i'm diggin the rear weights
glad they worked out for you, next time i'll make them about 3/16" wide instead of 5/8"
brass washers cut in half would be perfect to bolt on the bottom

ill get to work on some more and we'll try them out

Brass washers are what I used on the bottom! They sell them at the hardware store so they were easy to pick up. I'm no machinist so my holes are only a "little" out of whack but they work

Thanks for making the slugs...they had to start somewhere and that was a great place because I learned I didn't want that much weight back there really quick. If you made more of them I'd like to have 4mm tapped threads for the set screws...just means I don't have to search for the right allen wrench to fit the standard sizes. If you make them 3/16" wide then there won't be much meat on the bottom to use to attach the brass washers...and it would just about require you to run the extra pieces instead of possibly just using the holders themselves.

I just read through the entire build thread and you have me convinced that my mini, although it works well, is in dire need of a rebuild. I have been looking at all the builds and some are way over complicated for the result but this one is simple and to the point and with some tuning will have good results. I have gone to knuckle weights on both my 2.2 crawlers so naturally this is what the 1.9 Dr. ordered.

Yep...nothing extremely fancy here...I did go a little further and installed the aluminum knuckles and c-hubs, but the plastic would be plenty strong enough for this little rig. Hell..I'm running an all thread tie rod and front upper links!

The biggest reason for the LCC conversion, aside from the strength gains, was to make it possible to use the knuckle weights in order to get the weights out of the wheels and make it easier to tune the foams on narrow wheels.

I did remove the fuel tubing external limiters from the rear shocks which made a big improvement in handling on this truck. I hadn't noticed it before the Ocoee comp, but the rear end kept floating a tire...contributing to the truck becoming unstable...in any case it's working much better now!

I cut and then ground new flats on the ends and reduced the diameter slightly so that they would slide into the lockers.

Had a great time at ECC with this little rig...just wished I'd done better on 1 course in particular. It's really stable, and climbs very well. There was bonus gate on one course that was giving some drivers some issues trying to get started on it, but this rig drove straight up and through it! Thanks for the spotting on that course James888!
