Can I run lipo in losi mini rtr

I saw a losi mini today at hobby shop that had a different servo mount up front. The servo was on one side and small lipo on the other. Is that the mount on the mini pro? I have the rtr.

Yup..that's the mount on the Pro. You can run 2S lipo on the RTR but you may want to use a low voltage cut-off by Novak if you are not used to lipos...

I saw a lipo pack at larrys today it was 7.2v 1000mah. It was real small kind of long and skinny. It was in the case where the 1/24 scale stuff was.

1000 is really too big. I run 800's and have to mount them on the rear axle, as they are too bulky to fit on my upper links...but I get a ton of runtime..
There was a guy selling the MRC cube packs for like $12 in the Classifieds here..you should see if they are still available...

For comp use you could run even smaller packs 300-400mah, since you won't be running longer than ~5 min at a time...

I would look at the "C" rating of those packs 1st. If they are below ~35C, you may not like the "punch" from them.
Small mah wants a large "C".
Large mah can use a smaller "C".

My son & I run 325mah 65C 2S Thunderpower packs, big jump in performance over similar mah 25C packs.
