Default ESC up in smoke!!!

I just fried my stock crawler ESC. I have a MRC Pro with a slider running 30 spur and 12 pinion. I was playing around with a stock pack and decided to put a 3s on it. Not even a minute worth of crawling and it quit. I picked it up and saw smoke coming from the ESC. I am waiting on my mongoose setup to get here but was wondering the best ESC for the slider.

Yea, I hooked 3 cell up to mine the other day and got the same result. Smoke!

I replaced it with a Tekin FXR.

Another good choice would be a Mamba 25 or Sidewinder Micro.

The losi esc can not handle 3s, the stock motor handles 3s fine.

I have the slider motor and need just a basic ESC to handle 3s. Does it have to be a crawler specific one or could I use lets say the Hobbywing 35a? I have 3 crawlers so this one is just gonna be for bashing so I don't want to spend a fortune.

You really want one that has a decent brake, otherwise you'll be pissed.
Castle Creations has a couple very small units (Mamba Micro pro, sidewinder micro), or a Tekin FX-R, etc.

You have a star, go check the "for sale" & find one.

I just bought a sidewinder SV2 from the "for sale" here. I am hoping it will work for me if not I will put it on my Mini 8ight which has a CM2646. Anyone ever use this ESC for crawling?

Sidewinders are a good esc all around. They work well for crawling the only reason people don't use them that much anymore is the bulky size of them. But it should work well for you, from crawling to sliders u shouldn't have a problem.
