Default Gunnar Body Posts and Beetle Body

How in the world did you guys with this setup get the rear post to get anywhere near the body? The front is fine but the rear the roof/window are no where near the post.

As a side note, the gunnar posts are badass.

Are you going to be comping?
If so trim the fenders off and tuck that sucker as low as possible. may have to sag the ass end of the body a touch to get that body post to mount. then trim off the the bottom of the doors within rules.

Definitely chop the fenders and maybe the motor. Otherwise it will be top heavy and most likely limit steering anyway.

I can't go too low because the hood portion hits the battery on the servo pretty quickly. And of course the battery is too big to put on the links. I usually seem to get myself into situations like this. And it's not a comp rig by any means.

I've debated using the rear stock body mounts with a gunnar front but that's no fun. I may try to find some longer bolts to make it work, if they have them long enough.

It's a proline 1/18 VW body. I can't remember the exact store but a quick google search will give you some different options.
