Hey Ev...why not save the money & time...beef up the most vulnerable part of your mini & follow Papa's lead? Do the LCC conversion & now your setup to run knuck weights Erik already has available.

Im sure you'll dig the BWD chassis. Like I said...Either of em will do the job. Dons a great vendor with TONS of vision & is a leader in RC crawler design. Follow one of the build threads for starting points & setups. Papa is a great crawler & builder & you wont go wrong with his lead.

Most importantly...have fun man. Nobody heres makin a million bucks & VERY few if ANY are even makin a living based solely on crawlers. Most of your vendors here either do it as a side gig outside of their normal job or like Don, VP & some others...design & make parts for the RC world in addition to design & fab for entirely different industries having nothin to do with RC. So its for fun. Once it stops bein fun...time to move on to something that is.

J.D.

now you know what your doing!now we have pretty similar rigs.you have to sand off the link a little because of the screw head sticking out on the servo posts.tilt the the link by turning the rodends a little.to bad we cant get together to crawl around with our mini's .does anyone know of anyone that live near the finger lake in New York?

Why not just run countersunk screws instead of sanding the link?

I'm trying to decide if I should dye it or not...I would dye most of it black but than dye the braces like red or orange. What do you guys think?

Be careful with that decision, I have read some posts lately that people have had trouble getting Delrin to take the dye. Some have thought maybe Rit changed their formulas, but I haven't dyed any parts in 20 years or so, so I don't know personally.

I don't know yet if I'm going to anyway. The white ones aren't even produced so it might be cool to just leave it white

That would definitely be my choice, I like things that are a little different from everyone else's.

I got white Jeepindoug springcups too so it will all go together nicely....

I disassembled it today and got all the axles cleaned and but all the screws and stuff in little bags...I'm just waiting on the chassis now...

When I was disassembling it I took off the Losi bent link that hadn't been broken and the end of it was bent too. I got a pic that I'll post later. Just Letting anybody know if you are considering getting these DO NOT GET THE LOSI BENT LINKS!!!!! They seem like they were made partially out of butter If you need bent links get these: Chaotic Crawler Bent links for MRC Pro

i died my micro crawler chassis from don and it came out as a prefect orange.you could die some of the links black or something like that.make a cool look to it.the key is to put it in boiling what that is still on the stove.you don't turn off the burners.put in salt when it's boiling.put parts in strainer and that way you can always check the parts until there done.
