Default Blib's MRC

For a short period of time i had this crazy idea to buy a scx honcho, but then i remember how i really dont like scalers so i baught a MRC from Holt instead!

It came complete with tekin fxr, hitec 7950, CC Bec, Rovers and losi insane motor!

The 7950 will go on my XR and this will get my savox 1268!

I needed to change the rx since i got eurgel radio and this came with futaba R603FS rx.
When I'm at it i'll move the electronics positions a bit!

The battery was placed on the rear axel, this i will try to place ontop of the front links

The ESC was placed ontop of the front links this will be placed in a custom plate behind the trans

Not sure ware to put bec and rx but ill figure this out!

Very nice setup! Mine loves its 7950!
Just for thoughts.. the Fxr decased and the posts shortened(or not), it fits on the tranny above the rear drive shaft.. nice an snug.
That allowed me to put the bec on the side of the tranny long ways, front to rear, and my battery(nanotech 300mah 2s) on top of the bec and easy to get to.
Only my Rx is on my upper links..

@zarizi
Yeah it's about time eh?
Been looking at vids of you and your rig, and when i read that your rig is pretty much stock i knew i had to get one maybe you can give me some advice at nordics next year

@winner
My mini like the 7950 aswell! But the XR promised to kill my wife and do evil things to my behind if i let the mini keep the better servo ;)
Can you take/tell me where i can find pics of your rig?

Okey been tinkering with this thing this evening.

Finalized the lexan esc bracket

Made a lexan battery/bec tray

This is my first rig that's shaft driven so i got no clue to what i'm doing!
But the idea is to keep the wheight low and forward,

By placing the battery and bec on the links i minimize the feathered wheight, or moving wheight,
The links should move less compared to the chassie.

And this is a really good reasson to run the Eurgel/Flysky GT3B Radio system!

That thing is Super small, super light, super cheap!
Cause of the prize even a guy like me, with the finesse of a lumberjack can take a chance and desolder the pins to change them for angeled connectors

Don't think i need this mod for this rig, but it will sure tidy up the electronics!

It should fit under the cross braces or something like that!

Holt sure had no problem with amp loss due to small wire!

I gonna run 18awg it shoul be enough right?

Do any one know where to find new brushes and how short you can run them before it's time to replace them?

I have a Bwd mini mantis thread around here..
Ill bump it.. it has electronics setup as well as the VP steering setup info.. videos and pics.. ;)

@Holt
Yeah it seems to be a good rig

Good parts on it!

But i like to tinker with stuff so i replaced the 13awg wire to 18.
Dont know if my way of placing everything helps the performance!
But i think i dropped the wheight in the chassie buy 20grammes just to change wire and location!

Looking in to alternatives to ad that wheight under the rear axel.

Under my test drive i noticed that the steering aint the best, but this might be because i'm used to the XR

Default Blib's MRC

Hey guys need help!

To mount the pinion properly i need to add a spacer between the motor and motor plate, but i cant find what screws are used to mount the motor!

As you can see i got the losi insane motor!

Found a parts explosion on losi's web page, but this might be one of the most useless explosions ever.
Atleast on my phone the complete explosion was tilted 90 degreese making it easy to read...
And all the screws were labeled "losb1419" wich is the complete screw set!

Losi has a terrible habit of making screw kits as one piece for a whole vehicle, and leaving you screwed (for lack of a better term) when you need motor screws. Should be just M2.5 screws.

Everything is on hold waiting for parts.
New motor with a spacer and pinions, thinking of useing the 66spur and going up to 3S
Any one have an opinion on this?

I'll be running the Xtreme 380 in my new build (coming) on 3s. I'm thinking or running the Xtreme 9T pinion through a 66T spur as well. If needed, I may step up to a little taller gearing. I'd rather start low and work up while watching motor temps. My daughter's Exceed is running 14/60 stock gearing and runs a tad warm. It also makes the LiPo buzzer freak out with full throttle blasts (too high amp draw under WOT for her Zippy 20C 800s). Low gearing is gonna be a priority on 3s.

I haven't been doing any real crawling, but just driving over my toolbox and such and it seems to be way to fast, and the motor got really warm!

How hard should i tighten the slipper? i keep tighten it but it still slips, i should be abel to do a 90* vertical climb without the slipper start slipping?

Once you tighten down the slipper all the way, it shouldn't slip at all..

As for the wheel speed... I start low as well, but in the end, its all about having enough torque.
If you have enough torque to crawl smooth at the low end, it can be a rocket at top end.. imo..
So judging the gearing by goin fast, isn't the way to look at it. That's for throttle control to do.. ;)

Torque is the goal and motor temps(if ya worry bout that kind of thing).. lol...

Haha motor temps? Anything under 1000 is ok right? ;)

Well i do want low end controll and it felt like start up is kinda high!
But it's hard to tell when not driving for real!

My help to cut sidewalls

Seems like 3" diameter sidewalls are needed when you make the tires one section larger!

Guideing plate is actually 74mm.
And the center cylinder is 48mm.

I do recommend if someone make his own jig, make a bigger dia bottom part on the cylinder, 52mm should be enough and maybe 7-8mm up, this is for the tire to rest on. If you push the tire down, or have the tire higher up on the cylinder you will get different diameter sidewalls.
