newbie need help parts list for overdrive mod on mrc pro Hello all, Im new to after market mod.Im looking for a parts list for the over drive mod for my mrc pro. any ideas would be great aon were to start."thumbsup" |
Re: newbie need help parts list for overdrive mod on mrc pro The part number you need is TRA7079. When you get it, use the pinion and toss the ring gear in the trash. 90% of the axles I've done have required no extra shimming, but if you do need to add 1 or 2, Tamiya 53586 should work. |
thanks papabash:flipoff: for the info. papa, So keep the mrc pro stock ring gear? |

Re: newbie need help parts list for overdrive mod on mrc pro Best/easiest way is to open an account with Photobucket (what I use) or some other photo-sharing site. It's free and super easy to post pictures from them. |
Re: newbie need help parts list for overdrive mod on mrc pro "thumbsup" because you failed to introduce your self to the forum properly, I will just say welcome to the RCC here. |

Re: newbie need help parts list for overdrive mod on mrc pro I see you now have a Photobucket account. "thumbsup" I know you started this thread for the overdrive mod, but getting those lead weights off of your servo mount will help waaaay more. I've seen a lot of people do that, and I don't know why; take the weights off and put them inside your front wheels. That will drastically lower your center of gravity and vastly improve stability. I even shorten the servo mounting posts on my rigs to lower the servo as low as I can for the same reason, it really helps with vertical climbing. |

However, I actually have an Insane in front of me now, and it looks like it would bolt right up to the stock motor plate, but you may need to run a tooth or two bigger pinion if you don't want to drill the mount out a bit. I also see that it would need a spacer like this MRC Motor Spacer in order for the pinion to mesh properly with the spur. Hope this helps. "thumbsup" |
Re: newbie need help parts list for overdrive mod on mrc pro papabash, ok so i got the motor in no issues. But im still left wanting my power!!!!!!! |
Re: newbie need help parts list for overdrive mod on mrc pro I haven't run my Insane yet, but from what I've read, it has good wheel speed. Try playing with the gearing. |
Re: newbie need help parts list for overdrive mod on mrc pro what pinion did you use with it? |
