Default Need Help with steering throw!

I am loosing out on a good amount of steering since I switched to the BWD Bomb proof mounts. The problem is that they go over the C-hub and then the rod end hits it. Most people run the aluminum C-hubs and then grind off an amount so that they can get even more throw. This is really hindering my crawling ability!

Yes they had to mount to the C-hubs. What mounts are you using?

They don't look like urs so must be dlux... I have slight gap the whole way around other then where the "fin" was ground down to fit the mount..

"Fin". Look right to the inside of ur mount, right past the end of ur link end, that support material on the axle housing.. that's ground down so the mount slides on a touch farther.. you could also try to just take the square edge off the mount where the knuckles hit.. get a couple degrees?

After reading your post and looking hard at my setup, I think that I may be able to take a good section of the mount out to clear the steering. Going to do some work on it next week when I get back in town.

How much do you think that you took off hittman? I figure that I can go almost to the middle if I need to.

Well.. I didnt grind the whole thing.. I just ground where the rod end hit.. So I would say i got the mount down to, Not to be technical but like 3/32" in that one place.. It that is just an estimation. It was somewhere between an 1/8 and a 1/16"..

Yeah that's all I was going to grind was where the knuckle/tie rod hit. We'll see what I can figure out. I'm not far from hitting my shocks already.

I'm with hittman, I took a good amount off, I actually took enough off that my cvd bottomed out before my zero ack arm hit the chub just by A .... hair. That way I got full steer an The safety of the arm being a stopper on the chub.
Once you clock ur chubs, you won't have to worry bout hitting ur shocks or links! ;)

If you want to that would be great! That way any future readers may find it usefully as well. I'll also post mine up when I finish the mod.
