As received..

The biggest problem with the rig, was the track width and wheel base.. It's too wide and too short.. (Poor David)

Then I got some ideas... Actually borrowed idea's from mrcrackhead..
I cut a bearing width off the C's.

Then cut the bearing pockets off. (DravTech adapters for show)

That lead to cutting the shafts down and shaving the tangs.. I think I screwed up tho.. There is way less slop now, even less then my own rig.. Hmmm.. I guess I should shave more!

The track width was brought into 7 ¾".. Then I added 1/16" spacers to each side.. The tires where too close to the rod ends..

So after cutting all that, now the tie rod and drag link don't work.. :/
Since David decided he likes the way the Mantis is setup. I am now ditching the XR knuckles..
SSShhhh.. This doesn't work with wraith knucks

But this does!

Ummm.. So, if you guys know David, you know chopping a perfectly good set of Dlux weights up, isn't a option!
(Don't tell him first!) Or send a pic of a set you already did and wait for his reaction!

Just to cover my arse.. How's this for protection from ocd.. ;)

After all that fun..

Last touch for the night.. Out with the stock..

In with some CF.. This is a 4 link, from a friend of ours, Barrybelvadere of Barry's RC parts.

Now for a tie rod, drag link, slight bend to the rear uppers, gain a half inch in wheel base, shave tires, new foam setup, and reconfigure the electronics.. It will be good to go!
Then it will be time to put some scratches on this bad boy! (Scratches by David)

More work, for myself... That's what I did!

Had to dig into my BWD stock.. grrr... ;)
Luckily, the BWD shock/link mounts, for the Pro, worked. Just a little dremel work..

Every step, gets closer and closer..

Still working on the wheel base.. Helped gain about a .25 of a inch..

So I got the wheel base out to 8 3/8"

Looks pretty good now..

As this came to me, with a HH servo (which is long) and the front axle rolled forward, I swapped in a Hitec 7955.(for size)
Buuutttttt... It's still a little long for a proper setup, that I would build my own rig too..

After a little nudging and number sharing, David was happy I had this little guy laying around.

And he likes the pretty colors!

Bored with my thoughts of links, I switched directions.. Hmmmm

And foam setup..

Stock Pitbull rock beast foams. Inner cut in half and about half inch cut off the width of the outers.

Ok, if anyone didn't know I was an ocd whack job, they do now. Haha!! Troy, you are a good friend dude. The new rear 4 link is a surprise bro. Looks great! Goes to show what I know about this class with the wb. I thought it was too long. That's why I " allowed" someone to actually BEND the truck at the last event. Knowing now I had to gain, the front link mounts are perfect! I've wanted them but again, thought I was too long. Thank you a thousand times over bro. If we still have room to gain, do you think it should be stretched to the fullest? It's a class I'm still newish to but I've heard in some, folks prefer the wb being a hair short for reasons I've never asked. I always take my 2.2 full length. Is it an issue of all new uppers if we do it? I want to make sure this 7 year build is ready to kick ass. Pro trucks were still 5-6 lbs when this truck was started. Haha!!! I truly can't thank you enough dude.

Package will roll out in the a.m. New knucks, the other 2 wheels and tires, CW steering arms and the appropriate steering arm. I can't believe the progress in the short amount of time. Thank you again Winner!

Thanks David.. I can't wait to get the new parts! I like new parts(that don't come out of my pocket!) ;)

I think the wheels base is good, but I'll adjust that when all is said and done.
I might stretch the rear uppers, but won't need New.

Now go sit in front of the post office and get me/your/my new parts!

A little more progress, yesterday.. Some today, but not really.. Lol..

Once the new horn gets here from David, the drag link will be going behind it.

For some comparison, inspiration, and Mating..

Like David and I, rooming together at big comps..
Real close..

I have one front upper, set for mach up. Still not 100% where/how I'm going with it.

I can't believe the steering is going to get even better with the new horn. It's crazy. Keep building yourself out of 1st place brother. I've got A LOT of driving to do! I'll be thrilled to see spring!!

So is it done? Lol. I'm so excited to have at least one of my trucks ready for 2016. Thanks again for help Troy. You've always been a good bud and motivator. Hoping you get to visit some trophies in my shop this season. No, not like the last one I got! If you don't know what I mean, I'll post a pic. U know I'm shameless. lol

Troy is killing it. Alabama is for sure! I can't speak for Troy but I know we both love those rocks. Troy is a finals lock in almost everything he touches. This rig however, will change the numbers on your metals boys. It's sick. Moto, Liz and I hope you are well and look forward to seeing you! Motoj550, what is your comp schedule this year?

Found 2 of these while working on other projects this weekend. I was already looking into spare motors after my experience at worlds. If I'm going to comp out west, sand is going to get in there ( amongst other places). I'm glad to have these spares.

Work work work.. (OK not really much) .. Lol..
Shaved the "tower" off the back of a AHZ horn.
Which is a horn I would recommend anyone try!
And got the back wheels/tires done and mounted..

I'm liking it!
