Default 3d printed Mini Build - Purple Rock Eater!

So a local comp crawler scene sprung up and I had a HSP Kulak sitting in the closet.
So I decided to build a mini class.

Realised soon that 1.9 has died, so went ahead and started designing my own chassis.

I did a lot of checking out threads from circa '13 so there is some influence from a multitude of chassis that were available.

Also have designed my own 1.9 comp beadlock.

Will be doing custom axles as well. I'm toying with using scx10ii gears. Wraith chubs and knuckles and also an offset front axle to put the servo behind the axle.

But so far here is the skid and chassis.

What width are you planning on for the axles?

As in total rig track width? Or the physical width of the axle to the hex?

Axle width. You had mentioned using scx10.2 gears but I was curious if you’d use the remaining parts. Everyone is 3d printing cool stuff nowadays and it’s a mix and match of parts.

I'm thinking about 5.5-6in

I'm also considering starting with a SSD diamond centre and using brass inner tube with a 3d printed sleeve incorporating link/shock mounts, bta servo mount and wraith splines.

Gotcha. Here’s the closest in my notes for parts diving potential.
-1/12 ECX Barrage 159mm/6.25"
-1/18 ECX Temper w/wheels 170mm/6.7"

Heres a very quick and dirty design. Ignore the axle centre. Its just a loose approximation of the SSD centre. But it is the right dimensions.

Files will be thrown into the ether in the hopes Elon Musk accidentally takes them to Mars.

Decided that just using alloy standoffs was a bit plain, so spent a bit of time designing a hood with integrated braces and a crossbar roof and fastback peice.

Nice work! I like how you've made the cab actually look like it could be a truck unlike most comp crawlers.

Thanks! Yeah I tried to keep semi realistic without putting myself at a disadvantage by exceeding the minimum dimensions of the body/chassis

Also got my cut and shut tire donors.

Proline Holeshot super soft pins and eBay special swampers

V1 axles printed!

Fee adjustments to be made for v1.1 but very close to being spot-on.

So I decided the SSD centre isn't ideal for an offset axle and designed my own!

Now I have a nice platform for my battery

Nice work!
Lower link on the servo side will be a challenge...
What material are you using?
