fabbing up a rear deck on the rig today.
as of now its only in mockup because i dont have styrene, and the blue diamond plate panels might not stay....not quite sure yet until i get further.

Mate what about pitting the side panels on the outside, and move the deck up to the top rung so it covers the shocks more of a clean look?

Sub'd to see the progress of this rig. Considering picking one up for my 4 year old son very soon to get him into something bigger than his heavily modded micro Trekker.

thanks!
it wont be til my next pay date before i get another go at this rig.
At the moment i have 2 vehicles on the go, the honda civic had to have a claim against it for a minor ding on a fender before the car lot could take it in the trade for my 2011 genesis. So....i have x2 cars insured right now until this is sorted out.

i did stop by the store and all my parts came in that i ordered except the lower high clearance links. That means the rx-280 motor, pinions and spur are waiting for me now. damnit!! :(

second attempt on the rear deck!
the holes are in place to allow for a screwdriver to access the top shock bolts.
once this in black styrene (still on order) in .040 you probably wont even notice the two holes anyhow.

**Masking tape in place for mock-up!**

I actually liked the blue. Made it stand out some. Diamond plate work too though.

thanks for the replies!

although i think the diamond plate looks better now with atleast a touch of a fender now...
im starting to not like this tube cage a hell of alot. Now im aiming towards going back to my SRX18 frame, however... that wont be for awhile now.
Im just hoping i have enough cash on my next payday to grab the parts that arrived. :(

I'm liking the checker plate look mate, looks good.
I flipped my tyranny around tonight so it sits more in the middle. It gives you more room to mount the ESC down low as possible, and battery slips down the other side.

Just picked up one for my son this evening. 10 hrs to charge the stock battery the first time?! Pulled the 1300mah 35c 2s out of my MRC and put it in the SR to let him run it for about 25 minutes. He was actually ready to put it up for the night. Yup....lots of torque twist and the passenger front wheel rubs on the hood when backing up at throttle to the right. So definitely some room for improvement. I'll put a better motor in it once he kills the stock one for sure. First order of business is to throw some new shocks on it. I have a set of mrcp shocks but pulled all the caps to use on my low pro build. Will work next week on relocating everything into the cab though. Great platform for my kid. Perfect size for him and not so fast that he can't control it.

Very fun car, I tried to stiffen the springs up a bit to help with the torque twist. I like the back deck you made.

Hey guys , I just got mine as well ,..for the back area one thing you can try is some sort of cloth ,..I used an old sunglasses pouch , screwed it under the roof panel & added some velcro to the corners & a couple pieces of velcro on the the back roll cage corners ,..this leaves you with a kind of tarp that you can hinge back to access electronics , but also hides all the wiring ,..

Also one thing I did notice ,..mine seems to go a bit faster in reverse than in forward ,...Is that normal?

Maybe try reversing your motor wires and make sure to reverse the throttle switch on the TX.

On electronics, I actually relocated everything into the battery box and then slid my 1300mah 2S lipo inside the driver's side body panel w/ some 3M locking Velcro. Balances out the weight a little better and helps to eliminate some of the torque twist. And of course gives it a much cleaner look, too. I will say, too, that I had that thing submerged more than twice as deep as the truck is high and while radio reception was extremely weak, it still worked out. My kid loves it! I did have to get Horizon to warranty the ESC for me, though, as the first one didn't quite get waterproofed very well.

Next step.....new wheels & softer/stickier tires and better shocks.

I had the same feeling.
I also noticed the wiring from the esc to the motor is inverted from factory... little weird. Easy to notice if you change the mode of esc to forward only + brake.
I inverted the wires and didn't see any change in speed in both ways.

Both the ESC and Rx slid right into the tray and the lid pops into place as normally. Then i used a very small phillips screw where the tab is located to make sure this lid doesnt come loose.

The pictures are not showing Please fix.

Can someone who has a slickrock light bar tell me the length of it? I'm thinking of using it in another vehicle but I'm can't find the dimensions anywhere.

Thanks
