Default The Ghost Chili

This is going to be a slow build so bear with me. So far I have the chassis in hand and the shock shafts are on their way. I decided to call it the Ghost Chili because it's going to be the source of a lot of pain, frustration, and maybe even some crying. All accompanied by a burning sensation. That last one might be from the 7/11 burrito I ate yesterday.

On to the pictures!

Got my shock shafts today thanks to EverettY. Somehow luck was on my side and he had a set left over that he wasn't going to use. Now I just have to find some cheap scx10 shocks, make some links, and do the steering.

Got some more parts in today. But, got sidetracked and finished putting my downhill bike together. Should have some pictures in the next couple of days.

Made a little bit of progress tonight. Got the threaded inserts in and figured out the motor hits the side plate and the pinion also doesn't clear. So, instead of taking it all apart and having to redo the gear mesh, I'm just going to take it to work and slide the pinion back a little. Plus I can get some 2mm spacers too.

Made some more progress tonight. Got the trans in and bolted down. Had to do a little dremel work since the spur isn't stock and I'm too impatient to wait and get longer motor screws tomorrow.

And my little improvised threaded insert inserting tool. That's M2 incase you were wondering.

And this is how my mrc sits as of right now.

I still have to build the shocks and links, put all the electronics in, shorten the wires, and then make the body panels. I have the cf on the way for the body panels though.

Alright, just a small update. As I have a new toy that requires payments and a helmet to ride, progress has slowed. But, I'm still making progress. I got some carbon rod from work for the upper links, replaced all but the four bottom screws on the chassis with titanium that I stuffed some electricity into, and still haven't made the body panels yet. I'll get some pics once it's more complete.

List of crap that still needs to happen:

1. Upper and lower links
2. New axles front and rear along with wraith c-hubs and knuckles for the front
3. RcBros shocks need to be bought and built
4. Electronics need to be shrunk and placed

Not to bad of a list. It's still going to take forever to get done and a decent amount of money.
