liv3mind's JR Karnage 1.9 Pro Build

This Beautiful Chassis was waiting for me in the mailbox today, I was lucky enough to be a tester for the Karnage Jr Chassis from JCAD (aka monkeyracer) I was also lucky enough to have my request filled for a white one! THANKS. First off opening the package you can see the excellent design and the excellent cut job that was performed, attention to detail is amazing, every hole is evenly spaced from each other and the edges of the chassis, as an added bonus: it came with a good color coated instruction sheet (although it is so simple it is not really needed) it even came with the side body panels! tomorrow I start building links. I am trying the skid flipped from the instruction picture first as the weight bias is put farther forward. I will let the pics speak for themselves, but first here is a thanks to a couple of great designers that have supported this build:

JCAD (monkeyracer) - For the obvious bamf'in chassis

Custom Fiber (Winnerone23) - For the Servo Guard(s) and White Dlux wheels that will be making their way to me shortly! more pics of the servo guards are coming!

R.C. Hobbies (Chris) in vista for the deals on ALL the Electronics

Parts List so Far:

JCAD (monkeyracer) Karnage Jr. Chassis

Custom Fiber (Winnerone23) CF servo guard on a Hitec 7950th Servo w/ccbec

Castle Creations Sidewinder Micro

Losi Slider rx-280 motor

Spektrum rx losi tx
MRCP Shocks Front full droop/Rear half droop half sprung

MRCP axles/driveshafts aluminum chubs

Proline chisel tires (proline beadlocks soon to be dlux beadlocks in white!)

This list will be updated as it gets longer. Still lots of parts to get (want) and lots of work to do!

Love it in white. Looks great with the copper panels as well. Can't wait to see this one on the rocks! "thumbsup"

That's how I oriented my transmission, but I am thinking about flipping it the other way... Notice that you have one extra flat head screw. If you notice in my thread I have that screw installed from the inside of the chassis to clear the spur cover that I made. I figured I'd include it just in case you might need it. (in case you were wondering what the extra screw was for...)

a little more playing and the upper links will be done, now its off to home depot to get some m3 rod for the lowers. wheel base right now is 8.45 at the longest point of articulation. I think with some 4.0 or 4.2 tires and this suspension I will be able to turtle over when flipped! "thumbsup"

liv3mind's JR Karnage 1.9 Pro Build

Well sorry for the slow time this last week, I'm back on her, got some special rod I need to cut and thread, links should be pretty much measured out tonight and started, my face was shut in a car door last week so it slowed me down a bit, I've been wearing sunglasses non stop haha, I set a goal to have her on the rocks this weekend, (hoping my new wheels arrive) I'm looking to get some new tires, what are people running (sticky) comp legal

Ok I made some changes, she is ready for electronics then will be crawlable and ready for tuning, bent rear lowers, carbon fiber uppers, articulation is 3.8" front and 4" rear exactly before I get tire lift. Longest point in the wheelbase is 8.3" Here are a couple pics, crappy light il take more tomorrow in the light with my good camera, after electronics il make the hood and top, and I still need to figure out my tire situation! Anyways:

Thanks! I'm hoping I can get it on the rocks ASAP and get the bugs worked out so I can give some feedback on the chassis, although for me there is NOTHING to find that's really bad so far, it's very rigid, almost overly designed for me as far as adjustability goes, very well made product, I would not hesitate to buy another (I'm going to as soon as their available) or anything else that comes from JCAD (monkeyracer)

you get any run time on the chassis yet? only have about an hour on mine but it is predictable and goes pretty much where you point it

Liv3mind 05-05-2014 06:02 PM

She is driving, I haven't gotten solid time on her yet, just couch crawleing, which I broke a driveshaft, so I'm trying to research the best replacement for me! It's so sexy......comp coming up on the 10th, excited to introduce it to San Diego, I will bring som video back if I can get someone to film

Nice rig, man. Love how low the center of gravity is. Looking forward to feedback.
