| replacement c hubs?
what do you guys do for front hubs? i have aluminum knuckles with weights on my new rig and the weight has caused the plastic chubs to give it up. the losi aluminum ones are no longer available...what are my options?

If they make ones for the Vaterra slickrock they'll work. Same car, just different name and body.

know a bit late to the party but if you want to look at some other c-hub related things might also want to look at shapeways there some rather interesting things people have come up with for the platform. losi mrc - Shapeways 3D Printing Search Results |

depending on how bad the stripping out is you maybe able to run a form-tap through there to regain some of the threads. If they are shot-shot you could try drilling and tapping to a larger screw size but it all boils down to how much work you want to put into it . If your lucky and check Ebay sometimes you can find aluminum parts for sale for a decent price if your willing to wait |

I always drill and tap my Losi c-hubs and knuckles for M3 hardware. The original knuckle spacer bushings (flange pipes in Axial terminology) will work just fine with M3 screws because the original screws were M2s with a 3mm shoulder. If you're using plastic c-hubs do the same, but skip tapping them. Drill them, then screw in an M3 screw. You want to let the screw cut the threads for the tightest fit possible. Tapping plastic will make the threads too loose, and they will pull out the first time you tighten them or bind the steering.

Lol, I mod the aluminum ones straight out of their packages now. I've NEVER had good luck with M2 hardware, wheel or knuckle weight, zippy motors, 3s batteries, and high torque servos together. I figure I may as well take care of it right away because they never last long. I'll dig up some pics here in a bit of the last set of aluminum c-hubs I had with M2 hardware. Ripped the screws out of the c-hub sideways, bent the screws, killed my CVDs, and pretty well wallered the knuckle bores out in the process. M3 would have saved them. Instead, I was unable to save them afterward. 3+ foot fall + landing on the throttle on 3s will do that though...
