Purchased a rig that's all jacked up

So like the title says, I recently purchased a mrc off a friend he had bought off someone blah blah blah. The thing is it's basically a slim chassis with links off a scx10, no spare parts and just all around wrong. I purchased the y links only to find that my chassis is too slim. I've seen plenty of custom chassis on line but can't seem to find anything for sale. Any help would be appreciated

Saw this one the other day for 10$ lots of options for link and shock mounting.

If you wait a little while there will be some new ones out soon... if you look up Dravpnir's MRC build I believe his chassis will be available soon "thumbsup"

Not soon enough. I'm about to fly over there and help him get it into production myself.:lmao:

I think that EverettY means the Pitbull Mini chassis. If you are interested in getting that please contact Barry at ClassiCutCustoms. I only designed the chassis from the CCC 2.2 PitBull and Barry will produce and sell them.

I am
But it will be for the Brood Mini Stubby motor, that me and EverettY got the only two existing examples of, so it will hardly be offered for sale.

The reason I posted that link is because it comes with the servo plates for the front and rear with all the links because like I said this rig has none of the original links and at the moment I don't have a way to fab anything. I'll post pics tomorrow

MRC Wedge Replacement Side Plate - Billet Works Designs

It's just the side plate, but it's a chassis. You just have to buy two and make a skid plate.

I would still need the links and I'm having trouble finding those

Make some of your own. I got some delrin from CKRC a while back before they changed owners. It was a 2.5-ish mm inner diameter and a 1/4 or 3/16 outer if I remember correctly. You could always just buy some delrin rod and then drill it yourself too. I chose delrin because it cut real easy and cleaned up easily too with just a dremel.

It isn't hard to make your own links. You can use these items to make it besides a vise, saw and sandpaper to clean the ends:

Threaded rod inside (stiffer)
McMaster-Carr Delrin tube. 4MM is .158" so it is a little bit of a tight fit but if your patient you should get the material to thread in 8)
McMaster-Carr stiff rod
McMaster-Carr less stiff rod

Using threaded rod ends (less stiff but lighter)
McMaster-Carr the tube has a small ID that can easily be tapped to M3. I did this once on a job to save time and it worked great although the outside of the material IS a little bigger but that is no biggie.
threaded studs (you supply those)
McMaster-Carr M3 tap. Treat this guy nice and it will last an eternity. Don't go with cheap taps... they are a nightmare

It isn't the most convenient to make your own links at first but once you learn it is pretty easy to do :) and in the end if your links aren't perfect you can adjust by threading/unthreading the rod ends!

If you're ok with a 3d printed skid (I have been running 3d printed skids on my own mini's and micro's for over a year now without issue), I have everything else still in stock to put together a full brand new mini wedge low pro kit "thumbsup"

If you end up making links, I can get you the measurements. I run a bone stock pro ( except bent lower links) and a scratch built scale 1985 bronco based on mrc-pro running gear. I may have some unused stock links around as well.

Sounds good. I really just need to put up some pics of this Frankenstein of metal. This thing needs a good looking over
