Default slickrock mud motor

Hey guys, I just added a rx280 motor to my Slick Rock...love the wheel speed, hate the lack of torque. I do mostly mud and a little trail riding. Is there a motor available that provides simliar wheel speed with more torque? I'm still using the stock battery, would a 2s lipo and a smaller tooth pinion gear help give the slider motor more torque? Thanks

Yes, a 2s lipo will definitely help. That was the first thing I put in my son's SR. I think I ran the stock NiMH battery once. Even on 2S right now, though, it's extremely slow. Added a set of Axial 8-holes and 1.9 TSL's and it just doesn't cut it now. Running a MadDog 1300 mAh 2S and placed it inside the body on the lower driver's side, basically sitting on the skid plate and attached with 3M Dual Lock. I think my kid's will be getting a new motor very soon, though. I run a Reedy 19T stump puller in my MRC and it's more than enough with the 2S battery. So may go that route.

Insane 370, or the cobalt motor. Big price difference between the two. Search for the cobalt motor on here and see what you think.

I've been thinking about getting one of the cobalt motors. Should I get the 26T or the 45T?

Afraid I can't answer that one. Don't have any experience with them myself. Guess it friends on if you want speed or torque. I'm not to a point yet of replacing the motor in my kid's slick rock just yet.

Should just drop in.

Here's a link to the Insane, just google the part #:
Losi: Insane 370 Motor(1): MLST/2, MRAM: Losi (LOSB0837)

Here's a link to the promax cobalt motors which will work too:
Promax Cobalt Motors

Or you could get a team brood frenzy. It's in their mini section.
