LOL!! Thanks Curcal! Oh trust me, I'm not opposed to building a Super and I will build one, I just didn't want to pony up that cash this winter and only 1 guy in our club has a Super. They are cool as hell!! We have an indoor place we can comp in the winter and the mini is the perfect rig for that place.

I've been racking my brain on a clean and easy way to mount electronics for this rig considering the fact that there is not much space to do so. Well I came up with an adjustable clamping style mount made out of delrin. . . . .

Thanks! The mount works really good. I tapped the hole through the back part of the mount (black part) to M3 and countersunk the screw in the face of the mount and when you tighten it down it grips even better than I thought it would!

Time for tires and wheels! I decided to make some 4.25" Rovers using Axial Ripsaws for the sidewall. They are mounted on Dravtech 1.9 Cyclone wheels with printed centers. . You can see the size difference if a stock 1.9 Rover on the left and the new tire on the right. . . . .

Time for electronics. For the esc I went with a Holmes BR mini, Protek 160t, 3ch Receiver, and 2s Nano-Tech 300mah 45-90c packs. Time to smash everything down to fit in this small cockpit. . Servo is wired directly to battery input so I don't need to add a bec and it gets a constant 7.4v. . All smashed down nice and neat. . Fits nicely on the mount I made. . .

Can't wait to get it on some rocks to see what tuning I need to do. I think 1.9 will be a fun class!

Hey man.. Great looking build. Just ordered the 7079 and the shims. Quick question... Are you shimming the ring or the pinon? How many did you end up using? Thanks..

Thanks!! I used the shims for the ring and if I remember correctly I think I ended up using 3 shims. I believe I put 2 on the non gear side and 1 on the gear side. I just kept playing around with the side to side space until I had nice smooth gear engagement, not too tight and not so loose that it would slip in a bind.

OK thanks man.. I took a shot at making this UD pinon out of an XR10 transfer gear. Seems to spin smoothly. Just have to figure out if I run OD/UD, OD/Stock or Stock/UD.... Any experience with this?

Only experience I have is with OD up front and stock gearing in the rear. I'm interested to see how the gear you made up works out, keep me updated when you test it.

Are you liking this motor and gearing? Trying to pick out a motor now. Considering the Brood frenzy.

Motor and gearing are working well. Seems to be a good combination. These motors are pretty cheap to buy also but the shipping takes a while since there are no US distributors and you have to order from China. The motors are about $10 each so I just bought 2 so if one craps out I have another ready to go.
