Weight is a personal preference. I have no idea where you should start as I have no clue how much weight is in my wheels nor do I care since it works. And as for grease, yes you'll have to open up the axles and tranny. I use marine grease since it sticks really well and is waterproof. Just don't use too much as it can cause extra drag and possibly make things run a little hotter(electronics).

I have sticky weights under the servo mount on my temper, seems to help along with weighted wheels.

ah...under the servo mount, that's a good place! i didn't really look there as i didn't think there was enough room. but just looked more carefully, and can probably stick a few in there. how much weight did you put there?

also, how/what did you weight the wheels with?

I think I put 1 oz under the servo mount and 1 oz on each rim. I'm an automotive mechanic so I simply grabbed some stick on wheel weights from work and put them on the backside of the rims. There is better ways to do it I'm sure but it works.

Whatever works for you. Like I said, it's mostly personal preference. Try slowly adding weight until you're happy with how it performs. It's way easier to add a little bit of weight than it is to remove it.

The MRC Pro manual says 30wt that's what I have for my Associated T4 and B6 2wd trucks, so thats what I put in them. I may go a little lighter.

Ah, lol. Just enough to cover the gears. You don't want to pack the thing full. But you also don't want dry. I usually go through and give one gear a good complete coating on the teeth and then put it in with the other gears and rotate it a couple of times. Then I add just a tad more to make sure there's no bare metal.
