Default My Losi Mini Scaler

I never used my Mini any more so decided to make a scaler out of it. Had these frame rails forever can't remember where I got them. This is the Tamiya FJ body I bought for another project but it was to small. Still a ways to go to complete it. Had to buy a lot of hardware the 1/18 size stuff is harder to come by.

Electronics are in. Went with the stock Losi receiver, a random Losi servo I had and a Hobbywing 1060 esc. Try to stay under $100 on this rig since I'll probably never drive it.

Got the suspension setup pretty good. Maybe I will drive it after all.

Mocked up the body. Ordered some Junfac hex spacers need to widen the stance a bit.

TCS Crawlers. I ordered mine a couple months ago, but checked today and they are currently sold out. They were a popular chassis years ago lol.

Looks like yours might be the aluminum version. Those were sold a long time ago lol. Mine is a delrin version.

Broke out the welder and made my first set of bumpers front and rear. Came out ok. Took some practice welding such small material and it warps so easy.

Did the overdrive mod and took it for a test drive. Crawls pretty good for what it is but has terrible torque twist.

Swapped in the heaviest mini springs I have. It helped but it's still to much to my liking. A symptom of having the shocks inside the frame rails I think.

Going to order some heavier springs. Maybe build some sliders but the weight is getting up there for the motor and drive train size and I still haven't shop gooed the body which will add even more.

Also swapped out the tires for some RC4wd swamper looking 1.9s. Stock Losi MRC tires just didn't look right on it.
