I’m sold! I don’t think the super rey has a chance if going by looks alone but I bet traxxas has got it dialed in. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I’m sorry but I think Losi needs to update the super rey before they release it. There’s just no way it has a chance against the traxxas Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

[QUOTE=BAJAREY2017;5795548]I’m sorry but I think Losi needs to update the super rey before they release it. There’s just no way it has a chance against the traxxas There’s no doubt Traxxas absolutely nailed the “scale thing”. It just looks phenomenal. Dual spare, licensed logos, the tires, heck even little oil bottles, batteries and a jack out back. Plus the little fans in tje radiator even free spin. I do like the looks of the SBR as well, but it’s got nothing on the Traxxas scale wise. For me, it will really come down to overall performance because we’re all going to make these trucks “ours” and personalize them once we get our hands on them. I know with the same attention and accesssorizing we’ve seen with the Baja Rey, the SBR could be made to look pretty darn scale too. I would love to see a shoot out between the two before I have to decide. |

Yep - for sure. And, it's not like the SBR is ugly, just not as scale in its appearance. But again, that could be addressed if you wanted. I do hope that Losi engineered the fixes in to the SBR that nagged at the BR. Like the front bulkhead, undersized bearings, rear end.

Me too. I’d hate to have to wait for ssd or vanquish to make an aluminum bulkhead or rear diff and I’d hate to think of what that would cost. The traxxas I think said 24mm pinion bearings? That should hold up to 6s abuse. Iv always been a Losi guy but I guess we will have to wait and see. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk | |

I’m guessing the aluminum hop up bits for a 1/6 scale rig would be a little spendy! Losi definitely has a superior racing heritage, and I like the fact that there’s more metal in it right out of the gate. The slightly larger size of the Losi also appeals to me. But dang, that Traxxas just looks the part. And, As far as replacement parts availability, Traxxas definitely stands out. I would guess there will be bigger aftermarket support for it as well. IDK - it’s gonna be a tough call. I’d love to be able to see them both side by side in person. |

Still cannot remove the stripped screw pin even after a lot of heating with a 40W soldering iron and a torq screw to take it out. It wont budge. Horizon support likely just gonna send me the links to the 100USD parts i need... all because of a tiny screw had some red loctite on

[QUOTE=BAJAREY2017;5795891]Yeah especially after seeing the video on the traxxas, that suspension looks amazing The suspension action is just sick! I sent that link to a buddy of mine who is a big suspension guy. It blew his mind! It sounds like I'll definitely have one if I want it from my LHS. He said no one else has even inquired about it. Mostly 1/8 scale racers around here. |

I keep going back and forth reading the specs on the Traxxas and the SBR. Holy cow does the weight differential stand out! 6.05lb difference between the two with the SBR being heavier. It's also tough trying to visualize the size difference by going off the measurements. Hopefully there will be a side by side photo comparison soon. I took a tape to my BR and measured out both the Traxxas and the SBR against it. They're both substantially larger. (and I remember thinking how big the BR was compared to my old Slash 4x4.) I do agree with the BigSquid review of the SBR that the future of bashing and general RC is larger scale. It makes since because you don't necessarily have to go to a completely groomed course or track to take them out and thrash them. Any dirt lot, construction site, whatever becomes your playground. We've got a few gravel pits near me that I plan on hitting if I get either one of these bad boys!

Losi needs to get a patent for the super Baja rey, and then pull a traxxas.... but only to traxxas Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

| Re: Losi Baja Rey 1/10th 4WD RTR desert truck Its pretty easy, if you read the fine print of the UDR, Traxxas is attempting to patent the 4 link suspension setup - no shit, have a look, it's patent pending - so soon you'll only be able to buy one truck and one truck only |

They can patent a *new application* of an existing technology. Patent law in the United States is truly exasperating sometimes. I should patent the usage of cotton swabs to clean ears, then charge everyone 1/100th of a cent every time they use a cotton swab to clean their ears. I'd be the richest man on earth in a week.

Sigh, the patent is for the planetary gearset mounted on the pinion shaft of the axle. It is there to reduce torque flex. It explained over in the thread in the chit chat section. It’s actually a pretty cool idea.
