I would cut the motor shaft over spacing the motor out.

I'd cut it. ...and don't use a bench grinder; don't ask why I know. I think a cutoff wheel on a dremel would work fine. Just be mindful of how hot the motor shaft is getting, letting it cool as needed. What ESC will you be running? |

That was exactly my thinking , I was just a bit reluctant to go cutting things that I'd just ordered and waited 3 weeks to be delivered lol Buuuut all good and well and running like a dream , iv got the mamba x and it's a thing of beauty and so is the sensored motor my field link didn't like it tho it was lit up like a pin ball machine , i think it just needs Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Hi Willyg1982. Did you end up cutting the tip off? Has anyone else experienced the same issue with their motor? I just wanted a month for the Castle 1415 2400Kv with 5mm shaft Mamba X combo to arrive and the motor shaft looks to be a tad too long to fit in the housing. It really hurts to think I need to cut something of this beauty even before it get plugged in for the first time. Does the dremel get to see a little action today or are there better alternatives? Thanks. | |

Hi BMPNGGRND, Yes I felt the same before cutting but yes I did cut it others have dealt with it in different ways , 1) loosen the plastic housing away from chassis plate and try wiggling it in ( I have heard this does work ) 2) drill a small hole to allow the shaft to stick out the back and make or find something to cover the shaft like the rubber removable cover found on the twin hammers slipper clutch assembly 3) just cut it ,..... It’s not that much to cut off ( approx 5-8 mm ) and since cutting it I have now replaced that specific motor and fitted it in the Gom and it wasn’t too short at all , so I wonder if the motor shaft was just a bit too long in the first place Hope that helps Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
