| LtZerge's Scale Baja Rey (((Going to plop my project thread here if that's ok. I had a consolidated build thread on URC but that forum has since imploded.))) I've been working on-off for a year now getting the Baja Rey more scale, and generally just more satisfying to rip around with. There's still things I can improve, there always is, but I'm pleased with the progress so far. This is my most recent, pic taken at the day of this post Things I've added: Electronics
Thanks for following my build thread, I hope to keep updating with new interesting things I think of doing with the rig. Finally after months of waiting I got the new side cage parts in to replace my old ones. They were the victim of several mods I have since abandoned, so the structural integrity wasn't the same. While I was at the shop I grabbed some other scale bits. Dual batteries, a jack, and a spare shaft. Also made some simple antenna and a push bumper setup, and redid the mirrors to be more proper by modifying some old RPM light buckets. Last edited by Ltzerge; 09-17-2017 at 08:30 PM. |

Got my vanquish axle and aluminium steering parts in the mail. On my way I picked up a different camera and changed how the transmitter mounts. This one is way better at working inside the cab. After all that I went to the KRC off road track and did some filming. 1.5 hours of footage to 10 minutes of useful video. I was up so late editing I slept through my alarm, whoops. https://youtu.be/LYeyOuSDa00 Last edited by Ltzerge; 09-25-2017 at 06:08 PM. |

Do you notice the extra weight of the rear axle while jumping? I thought about getting the one from RC4WD but it's on back order. Love the paint job too Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

| Re: LtZerge's Scale Baja Rey It doesn't effect jumps much, the extra spare tire and junk on the rear cage does though. However it does make the rear feel a bit more planted since it gives you lower overall COG. Just the nature of sprung vs unsprung weight.I would spring for the VP version over the RC4WD personally, it's a bit meatier and more importantly has huge output bearings.

Awesome, I love that paint. SIKRIDES did one as well. The truck looks like it weighs a ton though. How is the motor that you installed. How does it compare to the stock one. I'm thinking motor and esc is my next upgrade Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

It absolutely weights a lot, around 9lb with battery. That's still not as much as the custom steel cage RC TTs, though. I personally found the stock motor/esc to be fine, I just had this sensored Hobbywing setup sitting around so I threw it in. It's certainly a lot nicer, but more for run time and smoothness than power. | |

Beautiful build! Where would I find the dual spare tire setup? I’ve seen this on YouTube however couldn’t get in touch with the guy. Thanks for your help. |
