Default Replace EC3 plug???

Has anyone found a way to convert the EC3 plug to a Deans or XT60?

I took it apart and it would be easy if I had a 3D printer. There's a mold that holds the EC3 in place that can be removed. If Losi offered a different piece for each type of battery connector, it'd be helpful. I have been using a EC3 to Deans adaptor, but due to the length, the battery wires hang lower than the body's skid plate.

It’s very easy to change , the housing that surrounds the ec3 does unscrew , some trimming with a knife is necessary to get a good fit once the ec3 has been removed , to be honest I’d change to the xt60 much better connectors , and a lot easier to solder !

How'd you get the XT60 to stay in place? The EC3 is wedged between the top and bottom mounts.

Do you have a pic?

The top clamp just clamps in between the wires coming from the connector and the xt60 fits in easily and surrounded by an epoxy resin , unfortunately I don’t have a photo other one I found on Facebook of the mod

I guess I thought the plug would come out of the body if it wasn't wedged between the top and bottom mounts. Thanks for the pics. What is the FB site for the Rock Rey?

I changed it to Deans in about 10 minutes. EASY. No printed part required..

I found when it’s that far forward and sticking out it would clash with battery removal and needs to be set back further !

I sent a PM this morning, waiting for a reply. I like the clean look and was exactly what I was looking for.

I designed a xt-60 mount. If you have access to a 3d printer, I can post it on thingiverse.

I'm having trouble finding this person. Did you guys contact him through the Losi Rock Rey and Baja Rey facebook group?

I’m using a different esc which isn’t mounted in the stock location.

However all I did was remove the plastic fans and run the battery wires around that way and it works just fine. Even leaves more room to get to the power switch

Yes , Christopher Lang is in the baja/rock Rey group if you signup to the group then search the group for this name and it’ll come up in various other post regarding this part that he 3D prints

It would be cool to see your model.

I have two ec3 batteries: one 2s and one 3s. After upgrading to a Castle Mamba X and 1415 2400kv motor, I'm thinking of picking up a 4s battery, but the one I'm looking at is XT60.

Even though a replacement LOS231005 part isn't too expensive, I'd rather play around with 3d printing an insert than cut into the standard piece.

Nice, I was going to say swap out for XT-60. You can make your own mount bracket by carving up some plastic too.

Was a 5min job to remove a little bit of plastics with a Dremel. Fits perfect.

If you cut the original part, the end of the connector will protrude 4mm past the bottom of the bulkhead. You’ll also need longer screws if you use XT60H connectors with the grey cover.

I got fed up having to wedge my hard case lipos into the car, so I designed a part to securely flush mount an XT60H using the stock screws:

Anybody who has a 3d printer can find the STL here:
https://www.prusaprinters.org/prints...y-xt60-adapter

If you don’t have a printer, let me know and I’ll help you out. I’m annoyed with Horizon for not offering something like this. EC3 sucks.
