| c0bra finally got a rock rey!
As some of you guys may know I picked up a Baja rey rtr around new year’s. I immediately replaced all the hardware, bearings, servo mount, front bulkhead and steering rack. Then replaced all of the electronics with a savox 1256 and aluminum horn, hobbywing sct and hobbywing 3660 3600kv, then uppers, trailing arms and rear axle. Now back to this thread. I went to my lhs to see what they could do on a tf2 lwb (I know nothing like these) but they didn’t have one in stock. But they had a rock rey kit, but for a bit more than they are online. After a short phone call they gave me it for the same price as online!!! It may take me a bit to build this thing as I’m planing on basically getting the same upgrades again for the rock rey, along with knuckles, c hubs, wheels and tires. Is there anything else that is needed from the factory? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Diff screw mod (traxxas 2523 ) is a must for the big 6” tires and also the front bulkhead to keep the ring gear where it’s meant to be . Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

| Re: c0bra finally got a rock rey! Not much of an update, but I picked up the motor and esc for the rey. Which is the exact same system that’s in the Baja rey and yeti tt. It’s a hobbywing xr8 sct esc and a 3660 3600kv sensored motor. With this system on 3s in the Baja, it’s nearly uncontrollable SPECIALLY on asphalt Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

She should be getting built here soon! Although I won’t be able to finish it. Still need to paint it, but this Pennsylvania wether wants to be cold all the time! I also need to figure out servo, receiver, wheels, tires and foams Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I started on the build last night and I am already half way done with it. So far the only snag has been on the front diff. The stock case uses m2 screws were the exotek diff uses m2.5 which won’t fit in the diff gear. A quick pass with a drill bit in each of the 4 holes and everything was back on track. It’s to the point were it looks like a rey, but it could be a rock or a baja rey. Today I’ll install the servo and horn, and mount/solder the esc as well as hopefully finish the bag I’m on and build the cage Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
