Shock Suggestions

Hey guys. So my build is almost finished. This was a kit I purchased back in November. I'm runnig a Mamba X with a 2650Kv motor. I have done a lot of uprades, which has added a significant amout of weight to the truck. The front springs won't even extend the shocks once they are compressed.

What would be good shocks for trail running, bashing and possibly some U4RC racing? I saw a YouTube video where the guy from RCN is runnig Proline Powerstoke Slash 4x4 rear shocks in the front with yellow springs and 45wt oil. For the rear he is using the XT size shocks meant for the Yeti, stock springs with a yellow upper (not even sure what that means) and 20 wt oil.
Does this sound like a decent set up? Any other suggestions? I will be doing more bashing that anything. Thanks!

He’s using the tuning spring kit which I think are a stiffer shock ,..the larger springs which are the main springs are too short for the xt’s , they will only fit the slash rears if I’m not mistaken ,
Truck looks awesome good job on the build buddy [emoji106]

I was looking for the spring kit for the XT’s and couldn’t find it. Now it makes sense, lol.

So if I buy the two shock sets (XT and the rear Slash) plus the spring kit for the slash rears, I will have everything I need?

Here is my upgrade list:
Losi
Trailing arms
Servo horn
Spindles
Carriers
Front camber link mount
Servo mount
Bellcrank/servo saver
Upper and lower bulkhead track rod mounts

Hot Racing
Front gear box
Rear shock towers
Front shock tower brace

Exotek diff cups f/c/r

SSD 3rd member

Vanquish KMC XD229 Machete Wheels, XD series center hubs, SLW225 wheel hubs

Proline Hyrax tires
Proline dual stage foams

Savox 1256TG servo

Castle Mamba X ESC
Castle 1512-2650kv sensored motor

I think that’s everything. Oh, the carbon fiber panels were bought off EBay by Final Evolution.

Yep should be good unless you want to use yellow on the front aswell then you need x2 spring kits lol but you might find the red (stiffest ) better for the front [emoji106]

Have you looked at Traxxas GTR? I am thinking about Slash 4x4 rear as Rock Rey Front....

and UDR front as Rock Rey Rear.

My GTR's on my slash have been by far the best shocks I have ever owned. Literally needs 0 maintenance and perform flawlessly.

I haven’t. I just got the Proline shocks today.
