| Re: Mass-holes Rock Rey Build Thread Whoops. These dual stage foams are WAY firmer than the stockers. Im hoping it helps the high speed out a lot. SSD wheels are great. They went together super quick. |

Awesome thread! Just picked up a Rock Rey yesterday with some upgrades and can't wait to try it out I sold my crawlers and just love bashing too much. Hopefully it'll hold up to what I throw at it |

Been a while. I bought a set of AfroLucha front shafts just to have since you mever know how long they will be around. Well, immediately after receiving them one of my front shafts let go. I also decided to open the front diff up and try 500,000 wt fluid again |

With the newly unlocked front diff I decided to take it over to the “bowl” in our neighborhood: Got a work out but didn’t break oddly enough |

| Re: Mass-holes Rock Rey Build Thread Was the front diff locked before the 500,000 wt? How'd you like it the difference between the two?

The 500,000 wt adds a little resistance but it can definitely still freewheel pretty easily. I think it just gives you that little extra oomph you might need sometimes.

I'll try it, thanks! btw, did you just take the garden hose to the truck and spray it down? |

Yes a light rinse, then leaned it against a wall and had a box fan blowing in it on high. I would normally blow the water off with my compressor to get it out of all the cracks and crevices, but my air gun attachment broke.

Well, this one is legitimately my fault. I drove it into a big ass rock at like 150 mph. Steering spindle broke: Anyone has suggestions on what to replace it with. i know Hot Racing has one and Losi makes an aluminum version. |

I got some aluminum losi spindles. Hot Racing doesnt seem to be making them anymore: The only “issue” i ran into is that the mounting screw for the brake caliper is larger than the stock one. The hole in the caliper mount needed to be opened up for the larger screw. |

Nice build! I am beefing up my RR and am grateful to read what worked for you. I never even heard of AfroLucha. They look beefy! How are they holding up? BTW, ever try 1 million weight diff grease? Thoughts? |

The afrolucha axles are pretty stout. No issues so far. I never tried heavier fluid. It probably would work better but ive been doing less crawling and more bashing lately so the 500k is working good.

Well, I have not been RCing much the last couple months but finally got the Rey out. I am happy to say that I was able to run an entire 3S 5200 mah pack through my Rey without breaking anything serious. I did shear off both rear drive pins(the ones that go through the wheel hexes), but at least that is an easy fix. I reversed course on the Rey. The front diff is open with heavy oil, the stock trailing arms are back on, and the swaybar is reconnected. The powerstroke XT’s are still on front and rear. They definitely soak up some serious hits in the front. |
