Rock Rey hesitates on sudden full throttle
 

Hi all.

New to the Rock Rey, I own the bind and drive one. I replaced the receiver with a Futaba one, that’s all I’ve done electronically.

Anyways, I noticed that from a standstill, giving it full throttle will result in a minor hesitation before going to full. Also if the car experiences resistance, like a wall, or weeds that are too tall, blocking the tires from spinning, the motor will cut out and stop trying to spin.

Is this normal behavior?

Yes. If i remember correctly this is exactly how mine was when it still had the stock motor.

The stock motor is now in a tmaxx I converted to brushless and there is definitely a hesitation.

Thanks for the verification, seems there is some kind of load sensor in the stock motor then, perhaps to prevent burn out or otherwise. Glad its not just mine :)
