Good reliable mid priced servo for rock rey?

Hi guys, I'm curious what good mid-priced servo there is for the rock rey, like ones that have worked good for you guys?

To change out the horn is such a pain in the a$$ may as well upgrade the servo while you are in there lmao. I was thinking of savox, since there is a servo saver, likely it will survive so a full metal case servo isn't needed.

I was hoping like $40 or under. Maybe a savox sc 1257 tg? Well they're like $60... I'm just not sure the best bang for the buck. Seems like if i'd wanna keep the stock esc i'd need a bec for certain servos.

Thanks

I've got a spare 1210TG laying around, so planning on putting that in the Baja Rey.

The Savox 1257 only has 138 oz-in of torque! No way that's reliably turning Rock Rey tires. The Savox 1230 would be a better option.

Or like a shift rcs s2
Eh I mean a 1230sg is $70 and that promodeler you recommended is $100 and its 3x as beefy. ProModeler - 470oz-in, Std, BLS #DS470BLHV

I did not recommend the PM servo. The Savox 1230 is a much better servo in my experience, but it is noisier.

What about these:

ProTek 130T - 0.10sec & 288oz-in @ 6.0V, 0.08sec & 355oz-in @ 7.4V (reg $90, on sale at Amain for $80)

ProTek 130SS - 0.06sec & 211oz-in @ 6.0V, 0.05sec & 260oz-in @ 7.4V ($90)

ProTek 100T - 0.14sec & 216oz-in @ 6.0V ($50)

Also, several Hitec servos will perfectly fit the necessary power/speed needs, as well as your pricing requirement.

I've been wondering about the (stock) bearing sizes. I know that, by going with the Vitavon rear axle, Exotek diff cases, and SSD front bulkhead, I'll be needing some non-stock sizes, which I'm collecting a list of needed sizes. Getting back to the stock bearings, when I checked the Losi exploded view, it lists a total of 24 bearings, in 5 different sizes, as such:

LOSA6956 x2 12x18x4
LOSA6937 x6 5x10x4
LOSA6957 x4 10x15x4
LOSA6940 x8 6x12x4
LOSB3008 x4 3x6x2.5

However, when I went to sites selling bearings (Avid, Acer, Boca, Fast Eddie), while they still indicated 24 bearings, is was in only 4 sizes. Instead of two 12x18x4 & four 10x15x4, they list six 10x15x4. Which is correct? Honestly, the two 12x18x4 (as listed in Losi's expanded view) seems wrong...but, again, I'm uncertain which list is correct. Anyone have the 'correct' list?

I went through the kit manual and looks like it's the diff cup for the transmisson. Going through the build steps(page 19) it shows using a LOSA6957, but for some reason the exploded view shows using the LOSA6956.

I checked facebook and the most recent post shows someone saying the LOSA6957-10x15 is the right size and not the LOSA6956-12x18. This is facebook though, not sure how much I'd trust it without checking it myself...

Oh yeah, going through the build manual, my count came to:
LOSA6937 x6 5x10x4
LOSA6957 x6 10x15x4
LOSA6940 x8 6x12x4
LOSB3008 x4 3x6x2.5

Thanks...that's what I thought. I had a feeling the exploded view was in error.

Don't know about the Op, or others, but I'm reluctant to go with unknown brands...even moreso when said electronics are coming from Asia. If anything goes wrong with it, warranty repair/replacement could cost more in shipping than the original price paid. With established brands, you'll be able to (inexpensively) ship to a facility within the US (or, in almost all other places, whatever country your in).

Made in Asia but at least they have a service center in the US.

Honestly I dont care where my customer care is US or Taiwan...if they suck they suck!
AGFrc has solved any issues without delay or headaches until now(In contrary to other "brand" names) ...so I rather stay with them."thumbsup"

I never said anything about where they were made...I specifically said about where they ship from. Those "cheap" servos ship from China, Hong Kong, etc, and those sellers have no US-based service center. Yes, Savox, Hitec, and some others are made in Asia, but they have US distributors, as well as US- or North America-based service centers, thus you don't have to ship overseas for warranty repair) replacement...that's my primary point.

You claim you don't care where the service center is...but, when you have to pay $50-60 shipping, to send a $70 item overseas for repair) replacement, I'm willing to bet you WILL care. Personally, I don't care for Savox (overpriced & noisy), which is why I try to stick with Hitec & Futaba (plus, they're both notoriously reliable). Even so, at least Savox has a US-based service center...those cheap Asian imports don't.

Panther..your posts are repetitive...kinda annoying.
First off , AGFrc is not a "cheap" brand second never ever me or anybody else in our club had to pay for shipping of faulty stuff...ever. Get your head out of your a$$ and reconsider , there are much more reliable sources than the usual Savox, HH, Protec, etc out there ;)
