| HELP! What did I do? Wheels counter-rotate
So I took apart my barely used, well working Rock Rey to do a few upgrades. I did all 3 diff metal cups, front trans housing and steering bellcrank/mount/servo upgrade. third member and stainless Links. As I was binding my upgraded DX5c and receiver I noticed on the bench that the rear wheels rotate forward and the front wheels rotate in revers. Obviously I did something wrong. Tearing it all back down sucks so before I do I am asking for help. What did I do wrong??? Here my setup: rear axle locked, center diff 1 million fluid, front 15k fluid. ALSO: My steering is also locking up when I turn right. I think I have the servo arm positioned wrong. The instructions don't show it setup. What is the proper placement of the servo arm and should the linkage ball be faced up or down to the chassis? Currently the arm is mounted straight forward and the ball link is on top facing up. |

Did you remember to Center the servo before attaching the servo arm? Also, did you install the servo arm in the exact same position (when the servo is installed inside the vehicle) as it was on the original servo? You always need to take notice of these things before you disassemble. ~ More peace, love, laughter, & kindness would make the world a MUCH better place |

Thank you ElRayRay. I figured I had something flipped wrong. Panther, yes I centered the servo before installing. Unfortunately I took it all apart a while ago. Parts delays and life got in the way. The RTR instruction manual doesnt show it's exact layout. I will have to google some pics I guess. I have a feeling the plastic arm from the bell crank to the servo horn isn't right. |

I'll be taking mine partially apart within the next week. If you haven't gotten the steering resolved by then, I'll take a photo, and post it (of course, others mint consider doing the same). If so it sooner, except I'm working these next 4 days, and probably have the time until Tuesday. ~ More peace, love, laughter, & kindness would make the world a MUCH better place |

I figured out my steering issue. The servo horn was rubbing the upgraded aluminum servo mount. The horn is an aluminum clamp-on kind. The screw was catching the mount and prevent full rotation. The horn appears to be rubbing all the way though. I guess the outer diameter is too big. Weird but glad I figured out the source before I cooked my new Savox servo. Losi sells an aluminum arm for the Rock Rey & Baja Rey. LOS331007 for a 25t arm. Not that you have to have their brand but thought I would share the info for future info. searchers. What ever arm you choose must be that slimmer and shorted style apparently. Last edited by Trick; 10-02-2020 at 05:13 PM. Reason: more info |

The Losi aluminum arm is exactly what I use in building mine up. as for the Savox servo, personally, I avoid them whenever possible. My preferred go to is Hitec. ~ More peace, love, laughter, & kindness would make the world a MUCH better place |

Cool. The Vanquish one is slimmer. I have a similar on my Enduro. Is the clamping style even necessary? I’ve never had any issue with traditional ones. The clamping ones just seem to be the trend now. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

| Re: HELP! What did I do? Wheels counter-rotate On a crawler or something with direct steering, I would say yes. Anything with a servo saver or a bellcrank, I would be less concerned about stripping the servo splines and spinning on the output.
