| Any West Louisiana / Shreveport crawlers interested in crawling in East Texas?
I am a member of TXRCRCA and we have a Dallas / Fort Worth chapter that East Texas is grouped into. We are having a comp this weekend in Tyler which is only an hour or so from Shreveport. I wanted to make an invite open to you crawlers. There will be both a super class and a 2.2 class. Also, is there a West Louisiana / Shreveport are club? Living in Tyler and having to drive 3 hours for a comp in the DFW metro plex sucks and if Shreveport had a comp that is much closer. Even for get togethers, your closer. We have three main spots here in Tyler and guys that crawl every weekend, some almost daily as long as the weather is good and the rigs aren't broken. I just wanted to put this out there. Please post up or PM me if your interested. |

I went out Saturday night with my kids to a check out a new spot. It was extra muddy because of the thunder storms over the weekend. We had a blast. The city is building a new loop around Tyler. It is loop 49. Here is a section under the newest bridge. It's only two miles from my house. I think it might make a good place for supers. The 2.2's we brought with us had some difficulty. This is the first rock area closet to the side country road: This is the second rock area farthest from the road: Picture of my truck parked on the side country road and my scaler driving down to the rock(it can barely be seen): My son with his 2.2 on the rocks: My 2.2 scaler on the rocks: Mud... Mud... Mud... And even more mud... Luckily we left before the heavens lets loose a major down pour mixed with hail. This could be a good place for a get together. That would make three good places in Tyler for crawling, this one, Children's Park (where the comp is to be), and Eagle's Nest. Eagle's Nest is best for a trail run though. Eagle's Nest doesn't have as much terrain that is real challenging. A good 2.2 comp rig can climb just about every line. |

Keep us posted on comp date. Tyler is not that far from East Louisiana, plus it also has a really good public skate park.

I'd head down there. Not any further than Longleaf Vista. Looks like a good spot, the first one anyway. The second is that old rip rap drainage rock, not as good.

The more crawlers the better. It's going to be fun and I look forward to meeting you guys. The forecast says rain on Friday, but Saturday and particularly Sunday look to be very nice. How many of you have scale rigs? Would any of you be interested in a trail run after the comp? |
