You guys are probably tired of hearing me whine about the ole Jeep and how she ain't what she used to be since I added CI foams well guess what!! I figured out a way to reinstall my wheel weights with the closed cell foams:

The Dremel wheel was just the right dimension to create a "groove" for the weights to sit in, seems to fit pretty good.

It was kind of a crazy scenario... I needed new foams but they couldn't be used with the weights so I bought knuckle weights and they wouldn't fit the axial wheels. Then after a couple runs I decided I HAD to do something and this is what I came up with, they feel good so we'll see the next run.

I'm working on lightweight portable bridging.
For those rocks that are just too tall to crawl up/down and for crossing gaps that a crawler would fall into.

I'm using extruded aluminum, Troy.
Carbon fiber would be sweet too.
What I'm using is the frame from a cheapo 2 foot level.

Done with this one. Took it out on the rocks in the yard, it did alright. Now to get it out on some real trails and see how it does!!

I'm contemplating my own hard body project, but I think an exo-cage would make it WAY too top heavy...
Hack the fenders and shorten the rear cage.

I dunno.... Maybe...

I can't help but think of the Happy Toyz truck from Maximum Overdrive.

It would be an interesting project, hummm. I'm pretty good with boxes and cylinders in AutoCAD but not that good with organic shapes. I'll have to think about how to attack that...

So, I've been dubbing with the old King Hauler body and trying to figure out the best way to go about it.

I decided to go without the sleeper and use just the cab.

I cut the battery door from the sleeper so it would fit in the void in the back of the cab.
I glued some tabs in to help hold the seams together.

Then I filled the seam with putty. I'm still waiting for it to dry.

I stretched a Honcho rear bed by 3" and I'm going to make a flat cover to go on the top rails.
Here's a preview of the cab and stretched bed to give a rough idea of how it'll look.
I probably should have at least set it on the rig, but I didn't get that far...

I just finished my fast back mod with some extra stainless steal links I made. Also dropped in a Tekin T35 HD motor. Hopefully that won't burn up in the trail. What do you guys think?

I trimmed the fenders on the KH lid and set it on the Power Wagon chassis.

I'm leaning toward grey or green primer for a color at the moment.

I'm also working on a headboard for the bed, as well as a grille(of sorts) made from 1/8" Lexan.

I may have to trim the fenders more and I'll probably have to reconfigure the headlight pods to work with the "grille".

Stay tuned!
