i was out to check out freetown state forest this weekend in the 1:1.
it looks like a fun spot to take the scalers, and as things warm up i will be bringing the boys there. we spent a good part of the day there checking it out on foot and cruising the trails.

anyone else ever wheel here with the rc's or cruise it in your 1:1.
pretty nice rides, it was a bit muddy out there this weekend.

it was nice, and i can imagine a full day of (scale) wheeling to be had.
one thing that really pissed me off was all the graffiti everywhere.
none of it was even worth looking at. don't get me wrong, i like subway art, and street art...
but this was just random crap and waaay too much of it.
one day with a mobile sandblaster and that place could be nice again.

I had a good time at the comp yesterday, thanks for letting me run with you guys. Great coarse, and some killer rigs.

Stop to check out the Blackstone Gorge comp and enjoyed the time. My two other buddies brought their 2.2 comps just incase they could enter(arrived late) and got to run the course. They had a great time and are looking forward to the next one that NERCC puts on.

Back to the subject in hand, Freetown is a great place to wheel 1:1. I go there on weekends late nights and run Copicut rd to the pipe lines at high rates of speed. Theres even a few doubles that can be cleared if your going 40+. Im sure there is some good places out there to scale crawl but I never slow down long enough to see. lol

FYI, Jeeps fly as well as they crawl if built right

Is it a far walk to Profile rock or can you drive to it, in a 4x4 possibly?

Hey guys, I used to wheel around freetown in the state forest and such when I had my 1:1 yota. I am new to scale rc but not new to rc. Trying to get my first scaler finished with all the bugs worked out so I can take it out. and maybe to some gtg's. I would love to do a scale m&g and hit up freetown state forest. Plenty of places right off of high street.

i dont see the parts that you guys are saying you take your 1:1's on.
unless you are talking about maybe back in the day before everything was gated off.
those gas lines are illegal to be on as far as i know. they run the dirtbike races on a part of them though so maybe there is a protected easment. i know the big field where we park is full of cows right now...

from google eath there is tons of trails, but when you get to them in person they are mostly gated, or clearly marked.

this doesnt mean we can't bring the scalers there, i'm just looking for more places to stretch out the Xterra.

Copicuit Rd, its the entrance road going into FSF. You can google that road. Bent rim is another road but for mountain biking and such. Mind you all of the roads out there are not maintained and has huge whoops all along the road. These are all type 4 roads so wheeling them is where its at. We do not go beyond the gates. There is plenty of wheeling out there not to have to go down the other fire roads.

There is a few peeps going there tomorrow morning to crawl their scalers.
