Boston Crawlers 2014 Nationals Qualifier and Outdoor Season

Boston Crawlers 2014 Nationals Qualifier and Outdoor Series

Hey Everyone,

It is getting to be that time of year again. Pretty soon the snow will melt away exposing those lovely rocks that we like to play on so much. This year Boston Crawlers will be hosting our Nationals Qualifier and our Outdoor Crawling Series (they overlap a bit). The First 5 events will be for the nationals qualifier and all 8 events will count towards the outdoor series.

We will be running a 2.2P class and a 2.2S class for the nationals qualifier. The first and second place finishers in each class will be given invitations to compete at the USRCCA Nationals Event in September. Rumors are running rampant that it will be held in Rhode Island this year (to be confirmed soon)!

For all 8 events will we also be hosting a "Run what you Brung" class. This class is open to anyone with any vehicle they want to try to get around on the rocks (2.2, scaler, multi axle, whatever), though please do not bring Nitros to our events. The one catch is if you enter the run what you brung you cannot compete in 2.2S or 2.2P. The idea is to get people out to have some fun getting their rigs through some gates and to get them exposed to some rock crawling without the stress of a very competitive class.

All entrants in the Nationals series will use their highest 4 event scores out of the 5 events. And all Entrants in the Outdoor series will use their highest 6 event scores out of the 8 events. This allows everyone to miss one or two events without losing their chance at doing well.

As always our events are free to enter, though you will occasionally have to pay for parking. I hope to have some sponsors announced soon so we can give prizes to the days winner and overall series winners.

This years Dates and Locations are as follows. Locations will be filled in soon, we have a couple new spots to scout. The dates will not change unless there is an issue with the weather so feel free to put them in your calender. If there is a weather problem we usually hold the event the next day so keep that in mind.

I don't have a comp crawler but I am currently building a ps wraith inspired by Harley's build , hopefully it's done in time for your first event! When will the locations for the events be filled in ..?

Hey Man,

The dates listed are firm. Locations will be added pretty soon, we are waiting for the snow to clear up so we can scout a few new locations. All of them are within ~1 hour of Boston.

We will be running a shafty class and a RWYB (run what ya brung class) this year. Would love to have you join us with your wraith and see how it does.

We are scouting a location this weekend. We will post early next week with the first few locations. We were hoping some of the snow would have melted by now so we could get some new locations for this year.

Hey Guys,

Locations for the first 5 events (Nationals Qualifier Series) are posted. We will get the last 3 up soon. We want to take a look at a couple other potential spots.

See you all in a few weeks.

I'm in for Freetown and Jamestown .... Just wanna come check out what you guys are running in these comps ( I'm green to comp crawling ) , but I will bring my ps wraith and honcho , to run one in your run what ya brung class anyways !

Re: Boston Crawlers 2014 Nationals Qualifier and Outdoor Season

Hey Man,

Either one of those should do just fine in the RWYB class. We can show you the ropes on comp crawling too if you are interested. You think you will make it to event #1 in Dover?

Re: Boston Crawlers 2014 Nationals Qualifier and Outdoor Season

I'm def interested in comp crawling , but I'm prob close to $2k deep in my ps wraith that I'm building right now so no more budget haha .... Maybe I will build one next year .. ( tax money ) if I like it when I go check you guys out ! .. But for now just a comp newb haha... I do a lot of trailing with honcho ( and hopefully wraith soon ! ) ... There is a killer spot to go trailing in Swansea ,ma maybe 10-15 miles of trails, water crossings , hill climbs , and lots of giant rocks for you comp guys !! Maybe a spot for you guys to hold an event who knows... Do you trail or just comp crawl ?

Ow and prob won't make first cpl events , real busy right now

Re: Boston Crawlers 2014 Nationals Qualifier and Outdoor Season

To Daddy:

Yea I definitely Understand sinking a bunch of money into a rig. I think we will have a loaner rig or two that you could borrow if you wanted to try your hand at it. I am making a couple tweaks to the shafty loaner I have and I am working on getting a MOA loaner up and running.

To JCPlante:

It will be great to see you at a couple events. Same goes for you if you want to borrow a loaner rig for one of these events. Some TI links donated to the RWYB winner would be awesome. Drop me a PM if you want to do that and I can get you on our flyer.

Re: Boston Crawlers 2014 Nationals Qualifier and Outdoor Season

Yea man , if you have loaner available when I'm there I'm down man, never even drove a comp crawler ! Sweet

Jcplante 04-17-2014 07:03 PM

Getting my rigs ready for profile! Can't wait!!!

Scores have been updated and the lowest score has been dropped. You can see all three of your runs but the total on the left is only your best two days.
