| Boston Crawlers - Event #4 - May 30th On Saturday, May 30th Boston Crawlers will be continuing its 5th annual Nationals Qualifier Series. This will be the fourth of 5 events that will determine who will receive one of the Five invitations we have to compete at USRCCA Nationals. We will have a 2.2 Pro class, a 2.2 Shafty Class, and a "Run What You Brung" class. As always there is no entry fee required for these events. Thanks to our sponsors Castle Creations, CowRC, and Purpmart we will have some sweet prizes to give out to the top place finishers of each of the 5 events as well as the overall series winners in each class. Date, Time, and Location are on the flyer. See the map below for details on where to go from the parking lot. Use your GPS to go to 540 Fellsway East, Malden, MA then continue past that spot until you see the small paved parking lot on the left side of the road, if you are heading north. See the second map for details. All are welcome. Last edited by BC-Brian; 05-27-2015 at 12:13 AM. |

Just to clarify. Park on west side of road. walk south down road. cross over to east side. there is a fire road with a gate. Follow this fire road( it will come to a small clearing. do not take trail that goes right) until you see a small pile of rock on the right with grown men playing with toy trucks. |

Thanks to all who made it out yesterday. We had some great courses and some great driving. It could have been a little cooler out but at least we had a breeze and that one cloud. Look for shoes and a race report soon. Dave, glad you were able to make it out to this one. You ran really well on the Shafty course you ran, sorry we couldn't get you through a second course, hope your not to sunburned. Last edited by BC-Brian; 06-01-2015 at 03:47 PM. |

| Re: Boston Crawlers - Event #4 - May 30th I recommend you Be There to See There Thanks to everyone who made it out to Oakdale Park. This event was a scorcher with temps dipping into the 90's, I guess it makes sense that the crawling location for the day is dubbed "The Burn". We setup three pro courses and two shafty courses. Pro Course 1 got everyones juices flowing and had a nice feel, just about everyone finished it with a negative score. Bob had to run first but pulled out the stops for a -29. Jeff had is shafty dialed in and pulled a -22 on course 1. We made the move to "The Burn" and setup on top of the hill, picked up a nice breeze, but lost our shade. Let the heat exhaustion battle begin. Course two was setup on the edge of the rock face. A series of challenging uphill climbs with a couple of sidehills and such for good measure. Gate 6 and 8 seemed to be the trouble gates on this course, both relatively sharp breakovers and gate 8 had a chassis grabber to boot. This course saw half the drivers finish, Steven pulled down a 0 on the course edging out other drivers by a couple points. Pro course 3 was sprawling over the top area of this ledge. Being the last course you know we had to make it the toughest. This course had it all, sidehills, climbs, ledges, off cambers, a tricky gate two, and a deceptively had finish gate? Brian went into the course with a 14 point lead over the next closest competitor, but he had to run before the rest of the pack. A +14 seemed sufficient to hold of the rest of the crew considering the difficulty. Dan took a shot and pulled a +2, close but not enough to put him on top of the podium. Bob was on the starting line ready to take his shot and take his show he did. He managed a -3 and snuck his way back into the gold by 3 points. That one extra bonus did the trick. First Place Pro Class First Place Shafty Class First and Second Place Pro and Shafty Class Results Last edited by BC-Brian; 06-10-2015 at 10:10 PM. |
