Default Western MA?

Anybody from Western MA? I work in Pittsfield, live in southern Vermont. I know there's got to be good crawling spots around here, but without hiking every trail in Northern Berkshire County, I don't seem to be finding them.

Speak up if you crawl around here.

Westfield here, work in Southwick...

I met a father and son crawling over at Wachusett Mtn like a year and a half ago... cool place up at the top but its a little bit of a drive for me.

Can't wait for winter, good crawling around on the snowbanks at work

I'm in granby, but hit up the summit house trails in South hadley and hadley often. Pretty cool place and easy to find. MAbell is much more fun, but tougher to find in florence. Not sure this helps you at all out in Pittsfield.

Ma Bell on Sylvester road in Florence Ma is my local romp. If you are in to hiking/bashing its the best in my area. You will likely see 1:1 rigs up there also. During the summer its a busy place. If we get a crew gong I could pm you and let you know. It would be on a Sat or Sun, usualy around 9:00 or 10:00. You may want to try Mt. Greylock. Up top there are some good areas.

Thanks for the info. I should try Greylock. I've gone in at the bottom, but you've got to hike forever to get to the steep parts. I should try driving to the top and walking around. It gets steep pretty quickly around the summit.

I know it's a bit dated but I live in chester which is 20ish minutes from pittsfield area. There is plenty around greylock but I much prefer finding virtually any hiking trail for my trucks. I know there's quite a few in the Berkshires. I enjoy the side trails off of sanders on Brook falls, the fire tower trails and most any walking trail really. Mabell is a great place on the weekends for 1/10 & 1:1 drooling but a bit of a travel. There's also some great technical stuff on walker Brook from becket to chester. Just gotta get out and find your spots
