Default Mst cfx d90

This rig is for my step-son (his twin has the MST CMX Bronco). The chassis started as a CMX, then I bought a front motor kit to save the interior from excessive hacking.

The chassis was assembled per LWB instructions and then I added 5mm spacers on each end of all 4 rear links to match the D90 wheelbase.

The body is from Banggood and it was a good value at $39.99. The paint will be Chevy Hugger Orange cuz I have many rattle cans leftover from a 1:1 project and he loves orange.

Not sure about interior color, I'm hoping he wants black;).

The way the body and interior assemble, I'll probably make the body and interior as one with a hinge in the back and hidden clips in the front like I did on the Barbie Jeep.

The motor is a 540/55t GoolRC, the speed control is a Hobbywing Quickin 1060, the servo is the stock one from my Ascender, but I have a PowerHD LW-20mg that I'll install soon.

The shorty battery will sit under the rear interior, I need to extend the frame and move the battery mount back.

The ESC and RX will fit on the battery bracket, I need to find or make a small RX box.

The tires are knock-off BFG AT's that are about 98mm tall and the wheels are heavy cheapies from Wish.com.

Nice rig. How are these CFX/CMX drivelines holding up? Any broken drivshafts, stripped spur gears or diff problems? Haven't heard a whole lot about them, but since you have a couple, I'm guessing they are pretty stout little rigs..

I have a few batteries through both the Barbie Jeep and the Bronco and I've had no issues with the drivetrain.

I mostly drive on my backyard rock pile which has some spots that can bind up a tire and no problems.

I do drive pretty gently but sometimes the kids are a little more aggressive.

I'll post any issues if they come up.

Finally broke a driveshaft on the Barbie Jeep. It was in a bind and the clutch is too tight....

That's not fun. I hired a gardener for my front yard. I do the back myself. It's not bad when I work nights and get home at 7am. I'll do a bit here and a bit there. All this rain we got this year has made the weed situation out of control.

We had the front yard done when the house was built, but we had the bright idea to get an extra big lot and do our own landscaping.

The rough grade was so rough and we wanted lots of curbing so we hired a contractor to do the rough grade, irrigation, 600 LF of concrete curbing and hydro seed. And my wife and I are doing the rest.

Sounds like a good opportunity to build a sweet crawler course!

There's a 20'x20' ish section of the yard that I'm reserving for a crawler course. Right now, it's a pile of rocks we dug out of the yard that I play on, but after all the rest of the work is done, we are gonna build an epic scale course
