Default CFX-W Front Motor Compatibility

I have been eyeballing the CFX-W kit for a New Bright JK project. While looking at parts I noticed MST sells the entire front motor kit with transfer case for under $80 and got to thinking that if it was compatible it could make a great drop in solution for converting my SCX10.

Do any of you guys own both the CFX-W and SCX10, and if so could you help me confirm the compatibility?

I have read that the width of the chassis rails is the same. In theory, you would just have to drill the right holes to make it work.

That would be great.

If I had that measurement off the CFX-W I can compare and confirm. Could you measure yours for me? The CFX and CFX-W use the same cross members so it should be the same.

That's going to take a few days. I haven't even started my build yet. I have read on facebook groups that people have used the scx10 bumper mounts to run scx10 bumpers on CFX-W's.

Why not just go with a front motor kit made for the scx10?

I like the overall design of the MST. It's $50 cheaper than the GCM kit, and I like the enclosed gears more than an exposed plate style mount. All the images I've seen also appear to show the transfer case to be a bit lower profile than the stock SCX10 paired with the toyzuki mount. It looks to be a good balance of cost and function for my needs.

This is the MST CFX

This is the SCX-10

The frame rail spacing is within a couple mm (SCX10 is wider) so that should work, but the SCX10 chassis seems to be curved while the MST chassis is straight.

I'm too lazy to take mine apart tonight, but it will probably work if you like to tinker.....
