Default Knuckleweights

Anyone tested the knuckleweights for the cfx-W from DC?
Or are there other knuckleweights for cfx-W out there?

I've seen them, but I haven't really run the car yet to see if they're needed. Definitely interested though. Good to see more parts coming out.

Samix has some brass Portal Covers for the CFX-W now.

I have a set of the Samix on the way. As soon as they get here I will post a review here. Should be any day now

I received the box today as well as the rest of the parts for my build, less a Servo. These parts are insanely nice looking and have good weight to them. I will be building at weeks end and post plenty of pictures and figment opinions.

I have Sami’s weights on my Scx10-2 and they are great. It seems like 12g is not much though as the Scx10-2 ones were something like 70 g each.

Dumb question, but I don’t see how the knuckle weights mount on the Axle. I built a subframe out of steel for my unimog build and it’s heavy with the hardbody and interior. I have th electronics and battery in a project box on the frame so it significantly raises the COG. I actually ordered lead (you can still buy them) wheel weights and am going to stick them on the back of the front servo.

More information on additional weight would be most appreciated.

I don't know about the TeamDC, but the Samix ones replace the portal cover...

Couldn’t help myself. Bought two sets of the DC weights in brass and one of the SAMIX. Hopefully the DC weights fit with my deep dish wagon wheels - they have a larger hub on the backside. If not out with the dremelll

Update. They fit fine. Note that the inside design is a little different. The plastic (stock) design uses bearings for the two pins and gears that sit at 3 and 9 o’clock. The SAMIX dispels with the bearing and the pin sits directly in the portal cover plate.

There is not a lot of weight to these little guys but it does help. I have the knuckle weights which add serious heft but the are incompatible with every wheel that I have so I need to shave them down to install them.

Just a couple shots of what the inside looks like as well as mounted up. Very nice fit! Even if they don’t weight a lot, having a “no flex” cover helps with portal gears in my opinion.

I still toasted portal gears with the Samix brass covers, made zero difference.
